Welcome to Bedworth Community Bikes, where we accept donations of old and unused bikes, refurbish and give them a new lease of life.

We then sell them with all proceeds going to charity.

We're not long back after a recent break to Amsterdam and planning for our stall at Bedworth Market on Saturday 7th November.

Obviously, while in a country that is full of bikes, i had to stop at a local bike shop. Funnily enough, this one just happened to be across the road of our hotel. What are the chances...

I recently had an idea about making and selling t-shirts as a way of raising funds for BCB, to buy things like tools and parts, or to even allow us to donate more money from bike sales to charity. Below are the two mock ups I made.

Well, after using some of my own money, I made some tees and hoodies to see what the reaction would be and whether there is an interest in them.

We created two different styles, a cartoon style and an 80's surf style. Each style has a single, smaller front logo and two different rear logos, all featured in the pictures below. The tees used in the pictures are oversized, so will look baggier than normal, but if there is interest, we can also supply regular fit tees and hoodies.

Due to an astounding donation to Bedworth Community Bikes and a lack of storage, for one weekend only (and maybe next weekend if there is anything left), we are offering some amazing prices on scooters and balance bikes.

Pic 1- All micro scooters and pole steer scooters are £5!

Pic 2- All balance bikes, kids trikes and wiggle scooters are £10!

Pic 3- All stunt scooters are £15!

What's the catch?
1. All items are unchecked, sold as unchecked and priced accordingly.
2. What you see in the pictures is what we have.
3. We will not be reserving anything. Its first come, first serve!

With Bedworth's NEW skate park opening last week, this is the perfect opportunity to get more kids active and playing outside.

A couple of weeks ago, while I had a stall at Bedworth Market, I noticed there where some empty units. As always, my mind started to run away with ideas for BCB, the future and where I possibly want to take the whole project.

Obviously, the idea of a bike shop alongside BCB seems like natural progression. So, with the help of some friendly, human hating AI, here is what a potential Bedworth Market based bike shop would look like.

Now, I'd be lying if I said that wasn't tempting. Something like this could possibly secure the future of BCB, not just by giving us a secure location to display all available bikes but to allow us to take on customer based work too. It would also allow us to carry a small amount of spares/products to retail as an extra income stream and maybe BCB merch. Maybe?

FYI I AM NOT OPENING A SHOP, this was just an idea I had that I wanted to share. If, in a few years we were still going strong, I would certainly entertain the idea and Bedworth most definitely needs new shops.

Mmm, some lovely Muc-Off goodness in the workshop.

We now have access to Muc-Offs catalogue of products, and what good products they are. We have used their products for many, many years, so when given the chance at a business account, we couldn't say no.

What this also does is allow BCB to potentially retail Muc-Off products. Giving us another potential revenue stream, to continue our mission of refurbishing bikes and saving them from scrap and helping people get back into cycling affordably.

🚨Fundraising Update🚨

Last weekend has arguably been the best weekend for BCB since we started this little journey. We had a stall at Bedworth covered market on Saturday, selling 5 bikes including the most expensive bike we had in stock. On sunday, we sold a further 3 bikes, bringing our total to 8 for the weekend. This has allowed us to make a big donation to Coventry Haven Women's Aid, bringing our total donations so far to £750 since may!

On average, we've raised approximately £150 a month so far. Could we hit £1000 before Christmas?

While I was at the market, I noticed some of the permanent shops where not being used. Now nothing will come of this but i must admit, I was quite intrigued at what the future could look like for BCB.

We've spent part of the weekend thinking about how we could raise money outside of selling bikes, just as a way of sustaining an income that allows us to fix bikes. What i mean by this is if we don't sell bikes, we can't raise funds to donate to Coventry Haven Women's Aid and fix other bikes.

So I revisited then idea of BCB t-shirts. These are a few we have come up with. Community focused, bike themed and playful.

Thing is though, what does the community think?

If there's positive reaction, I'll look into making them (yes, we would print them in our workshop).

We've added 3 more bikes to our available list and to the website. They are-

All ready to ride away. If you see a bike you like, message us and we can arrange a viewing.

We've also added all sizes to the titles of the website so you can see straight away what size a bike is.

Remember- we will be at Bedworth Covered Market next Saturday from about 8.30/9ish of you want to come down and have a look. We will take as many bikes as we can.
