Today we say goodbye to one of our members - our lovely Beryl H ❤️
We wanted to create funeral flowers in the best way we knew…so each of these stems have been knitted or crocheted by our group…the perfect tribute to a special lady.
I’m just sad she didn’t get to see it.
Rest easy Beryl, we’ll miss you x

Over the last 10 years of being part of this group I have been lucky enough to get to know so many wonderful women. Think of it as a room full of bonus auntie & grandma type figures. That’s what I am privileged to have on a weekly basis.

But this week we had extremely sad news that has affected our group in a huge way…

Beryl, you were loved by us all and we will miss you terribly ❤️

You lived life to the full and were so proud of your family, and I will miss hearing all the stories about your growing gang and all their achievements.

Well we did it! 🎉
Very proud to have won the Best Adults’ Tree at the Bedford Christmas Tree Festival for the third year running!

A big thank you to Lane & Holmes Estate Agents for sponsoring the trophy.

One of the highlights of our year! 🎄
The amazing Bedford Christmas Tree Festival is held at St Paul’s Church in Bedford, it’s a magical event and raises much needed funds for charity.
It’s their 25th Anniversary so the theme for 2025 is “Christmas Past, Present & Future” and once again we went in with all the makes!

Spot the things from Christmas past….holly, ivy, mistletoe, the exotic stocking filler of a tangerine, a traditional fireplace, piano and decorations like paper chains, candles and a Blue Peter special!

Then recognise the delivery fuelled era of the ‘present’ a very online and sometimes stressful Christmas, with consumerism and spending at an all time high!

And finally what does future Christmas’ look like?! Hopefully a more of a peaceful world and heading back to simpler times, celebrating one of the original stories of Christmas - showing kindness and offering shelter & love to others when needed 🤍

Please support the festival from Weds 3rd to Sunday 7th December, and don’t forget to vote for your favourite trees! 🗳️

We love taking part in this event (winning or not), it’s truly magical and raises tons of money for Bedford Hospital and St Paul’s Church itself ❤️

Our “Magic of Christmas” decorated tree for the Bedford Christmas Tree Festival in St Paul's Church, Bedford

We went for a frosty, magical vibe this year and my group did not disappoint with their hand knitted & crocheted decorations ❄️

This is such a lovely event that takes place from today, Wednesday 4th to Sunday 8th December 🎄so go and visit if you can!

You can vote for your favourite tree 😉 and all funds raised goes to the church and to the Bedford Hospital Charity.

We meet at the Albero Lounge & Bedrooms on Mondays & Wednesdays, 10am till 12pm
