Happy International Menstrual Hygiene Day!

A big thank you to So She Did for partnering with us and providing sanitary packs to 70 girls in the Hope365 Academy!

These packs are filled with reusable sanitary pads, underwear and soap, all products which will be life-changing to girls.

Lack of period products prevents many young women going to school while menstruating, meaning they can miss up to 25% of their schooling a month. This is why these packs are vitally important. They provide girls with confidence, dignity and a hygienic way to manage their periods, meaning they can attend school and keep learning.

One of our new initiatives in our school is our Girls’ Buddy System, where each girl is paired with another student from a different year group. This creates opportunities for girls to gradually develop confidence in using their voice, no matter how quiet they may initially be.

The buddy system helps girls to:
💛 Build confidence in speaking and communicating
💛 Develop active listening skills
💛 Form supportive relationships across year groups
💛 Learn empathy, trust, and responsibility toward one another

Over time, girls often become an important source of support for their buddies, learning to recognise when something may be wrong and feeling empowered to raise concerns when needed.

We have recently launched our Girls’ Council at the Hope365 Academy! The Girls’ Council consists of six elected representatives (one from each class) who act as the voice of their peers. Their role is to:

🩷 Represent the views and concerns of girls in their class
🩷 Raise issues affecting students with teachers and school leaders
🩷 Share ideas to help make the school community safer and more supportive
🩷 Lead discussions around challenges affecting girls

This representative structure ensures that concerns can be communicated clearly and addressed constructively. Thank you to So She Did for partnering with us in this programme!

Have you ever seen a more charming smile? It's simply contagious!! 💚

Ramadan has been with us for a few years, following a really tough start in life. Yet, thanks to the fantastic medical care of local doctors and the dedication of our staff, Ramadan is able to look forward to his future.

Ramadan told us that being a part of the Hope365 family has made 'a huge difference' to his life. He told us his favourite thing is that he can eat as much as he wants and that sleeping in a bed is so much better than sleeping on the Streets. Ramadan also loves the relationships he is making and being able to play with his friends.

Thank you for making it possible for us to provide the necessary care for Ramadan!
