Borrow, don’t Buy! is the message from Tideswell and District Environment Group.

The opening of its ‘Library of Things’ will enable community members from Tideswell and the surrounding area to save money and help protect the environment by borrowing items they need only once or occasionally. Items include power tools, gardening equipment, cooking appliances – and even a chocolate fountain! It costs £5 to join and then all items are free to borrow.

95% of items have been donated, giving items such as hedge trimmers, garden shredders, dehumidifiers, socket sets, carpet cleaners, teas sets, space heaters, angle grinders, - and lots more - a new lease of life.

The library of Things is open Saturdays 08:30 – 10:30 and Wednesdays 16:30 – 18:30 at the Tideswell Sports Complex.

To view the items available to borrow, visit: TDEG.org.uk/library-of-things or email [email protected]

"...this is the least extreme climate you will experience in your lifetime." This is Professor Hayley Fowler speaking at the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster last November. You can watch her 12 minute talk in the video below. If this worries you, why not come along to one of the local screenings of the People's Emergency Briefings, to find out what we can do locally and nationally.
