A snippet of history from 50 years ago, when in 1976 the Village Hall was raising funds. Around 800 people came along to an outside Open Day, a dance and barbecue (with 200 youngsters attending an evening disco). There was a pipe band, clay pigeon shooting, indoor arts and crafts exhibitions. The church and chapel joined in the fun with floral displays and old farm implements in the chapel school room. Hard to imagine recreating it these days.

Now the holiday season's behind us, we're re-starting these popular meet-up mornings - first one is in September (19th). Locals might want to drop-in and discuss things like how information gets shared now, given the village website is closing down and we no longer have a Parish magazine.
