A lovey wee solo dip after my run tonight and it got me thinking 🤔
I started cold water dipping for my mental health and at first it was also
just about recovery from running — sore legs, early mornings, getting back out there. But it’s become more than that.
It’s a reset.
A moment where everything noisy goes quiet, even if just for a few minutes. That’s amazing in my hectic life I will tell you😁
As a man, I’ve never found it easy to talk about how I feel. I’m not suddenly great at it now either. But I’m learning that showing up counts for something. That’s always been my strength — I turn up.
I turn up for my runs, for the people in my life, for the ones who stand by me. 🙏🏻And even for those I don’t always understand, I try to show up anyway, even if they wouldn’t for me.
This isn’t about having it all figured out. It’s about doing something — anything — that helps you keep going. For me, it’s cold water, running, and staying consistent. For someone else, it might be something completely different. That’s fine too. 🥰
If you’re struggling, you don’t have to have the perfect words or be a mad runner …..Just start somewhere. Turn up for yourself the same way you would for someone else. Have a great evening my amigos 😎🕺🏿
