We were so busy at the beginning of our DofE session today, that we totally forgot to take any photos!

We had a long list of jobs to complete, as the rain last week had left everywhere muddy and messy again, so we swept, raked, moved pallets around and had a big general tidy up! The ALC is a lot tidier now, and the compost heap is considerably larger, so thank you so much to everyone for helping with this onerous task!

We did have a lovely surprise when we went to collect the eggs... the two incubated eggs that have been sitting on various nests for what seems ages, had hatched! This is amazing, because these eggs have been incubated by several different hens, over the last few weeks ... they've been left to go cold, then warmed up again, and have been moved around, and we weren't sure if they'd hatch at all! So it was a lovely surprise to find two brand new super fluffy little chicks under one of their many mammas!

We went into the woodland and took down the shelters that the HomeEds built last week, that had now dried out after all the heavy rain. We fixed the ropes on the cargo net, and then we went down to the river and the rope swings for the last half hour of the session.

A very productive session today, even though our lads were just a little tired after watching football until the early hours! ๐ฅฑ Self inflicted lack of sleep lads, I have no sympathy! ๐คฃ
