THREE BEAUTIFUL TEACHINGS

The ḥadīths of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam from yesterday are beautiful, truly beautiful. The words of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam are priceless treasures. Whoever obeys him ﷺ, follows his ﷺ example, and heeds his ﷺ advice and beautiful words will be happy and from people of joy both in this world and the hereafter. This beautiful way of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam is a way devoid of any evil.

Yesterday we read, our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said, “No wealth diminishes from charity.” Our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said this as an oath; anyone who says that their wealth decreases from giving charity is lying. Charity increases wealth, wards off trouble and calamity, and leads to all kinds of goodness and the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ. Therefore, this ḥadīth we read yesterday is a very beautiful saying of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. There is no doubt about this, as our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam swore an oath; no one should think, “If I give charity, my wealth will decrease.” By giving sadaqah, a person protects himself, becomes a means of attaining the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ, and fulfills our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam’s word.

Secondly, even if you are in the right, if you forgive someone who has harmed you, you will become Azīz (honored) in the Presence of Allāh ﷻ, you will be a person of dignity and you will be an accepted person. Otherwise, even if you succumb to your ego and quarrel or argue with that person, that virtue will be gone. This is also important, because it is not easy for a person to control his own ego. To relinquish falsehood and injustice for the sake of Allāh ﷻ, even when you are in the right – people may sometimes object by saying, “This is unacceptable,” but if you relinquish it for the sake of Allāh ﷻ, Allāh ﷻ will make you honored and exalted in His ﷻ sight. This is also very important.

Thirdly, asking for money from people, begging— our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said that this is not a good behavior at all. It leads to poverty. If it is given to you without you asking, if Allāh ﷻ sends it, you receive it; but if you are constantly saying, “Give me,” then that leads to poverty. May Allāh ﷻ protect us.

These three teachings are very beautiful pieces of advice from our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. They are a means to a person’s lifelong goodness, beauty, happiness, and bliss, both in this world and the hereafter. May Allāh ﷻ make us among those who follow his ﷺ way, in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh ﷻ grant us all the ability to accept this beautiful ḥadīth and act upon it without following our own egos, in shā’a Llāh.

Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.

2:31 – « Wa ‘allama Adamal Asma a kullaha, thumma ‘aradahum ‘alal Malaikati faqala anbioonee bi asma i haola e in kuntum sadiqeen. » (Sourate Al-Baqarah)

» Pendant 40 ans, Sayyidina Adam (as) a pleuré : « Ô mon Seigneur, accorde-moi Ton pardon, accepte ma repentance. L’âge de Sayyidina Moïse (as).

« Qalb al mu’min baytur rabb. »

GARDENS OF PARADISE IN DUNYĀ

Mawlana Sheikh Muhammad Adil ar-Rabbani
11 June 2026/ 25 Dhul Hijjah 1447
Fajr Prayer – Akbaba Dergah, Istanbul

Our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said, “When you pass by the gardens of Paradise, then enter and benefit from their bounties.” When the companions asked, “What kind of gardens of Paradise are these? How can there be gardens of Paradise in dunyā?” He ﷺ replied: “They are the assemblies of knowledge. Whoever visits a place where knowledge is taught enters a garden of Paradise.” However, one must be careful about where true and correct knowledge can be found. There is much that appears to be knowledge but has nothing to do with it, which people have simply made up themselves. They may say, “We teach from the Qur’ān.” But Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n cannot be understood at all without the Sunnah and the ḥadīths. The ḥadīths of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam explain the Qur’ān. They point out its commandments and make clear what is permitted and what is forbidden.

The most important thing for a believer is to follow the way of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Emulating his ﷺ example and practicing his ﷺ Sunnah in the best possible way is essential for every believer, Muslim, and people of ṭarīqah. Everyone should do as much as is within their power. And what one cannot manage, Allāh ﷻ forgives. As long as it is not a Fard, omitting the Sunnah or other voluntary prayers entails neither a sin nor a punishment. However, if one omits a Fard, this incurs a punishment and one must absolutely make up for it. It is, however, highly meritorious to perform the Sunnah as well as the voluntary and recommended acts of worship. These are precisely the gardens of Paradise in dunyā of which our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said: “Enjoy their bounties.” The more you benefit from this, learn, and remain consistent, the greater your share of this spiritual nourishment. This gives a person both spiritual and physical strength. When spirituality grows, the body also becomes stronger, which benefits one in dunyā and in the Hereafter.

May Allāh ﷻ grant us blessed circles of knowledge. For the people who follow this way—the path of our ‎Prophet ﷺ - are known as Ahlu s-Sunnah wal-Jamā’ah. All others, meaning those who do not accept the way of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, do not count as part of the Ahlu s-Sunnah wal-Jamā’ah. Even if they call themselves that, in truth, they have nothing to do with it. The only right way is the way of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Following this way leads to salvation. May Allāh ﷻ keep us all steadfast on this way, in shā’a Llāh.

Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.

And May the peace and blessing of Allah, be upon Our Master Muhammad (pbuh) and his family and companions. O Allah, whatever actions I have committed this past year which You have forbidden me from, which I have not repented from, and you have not been pleased with nor do you forget, while You are forbearing with me , though You are fully capable of punishing me, while You called me to repentance after my foolishness before You in committing sins – O Allah, I surely seek Your forgiveness for that, so forgive me!

O Allah, as for my actions that have pleased You in this year and for which reward has been promised, then I ask You O Allah! O Most Generous, O Owner of Majesty and Reverance, that You accept them from me. And do not dash my hopes in You. O Most Generous! And Allah, the Most Exalted, bless our Master Muhammad (pbuh) and his family and companions and grant them peace.

Historical Significance of The Day of ‘Ashura for All Nations
’Ashura is the 10th day of holy month of Muharram. It is a day of great historical significance in which many Prophets and their nations were saved.

On the day of ‘Ashura:
• It was on this day that the Skies earth and the Lauw-e-Qalam came into existence.
• On this day Sayyidina Adam (AS) and Sayyidatina Hawa (Eve) were created.
• Sayyidina Adam (as) was forgiven by Allah (aj) after his exile from Paradise;
• Sayyidina Nuh (as) and his companions in the ark were saved by Allah (aj).
• Sayyidina Ibrahim (as):Allah extinguished the fire in which Sayyidina Ibrahim (as) was thrown by Ni**od.
• Allah (swt) spoke directly to Sayyidina Musa (Moses) (as) and gave him the Commandments.
• Also on this day, the sea was departed for Sayyidina Musa (as) and the nation of israel was saved from captivity, and Pharoah’s army was destroyed.
• Sayyidina ‘Isa (Jesus) (as) was raised to Jannah on the day of ‘Ashura.
• Sayyidina Muhammad (ﷺ) was given the City of Light (Madinatul Munawera) on the day of ‘Ashura
• Sayyidina Ayyub (as) ‘s health was restored (from leprosy).
• Sayyidina Yusuf (as) was reunited with his father Ya’qub (as) after 40 years.
• Sayyidina Yunus (Jonah) (as) was taken out from the belly of the fish.
• Sayyidina Dawud (as) was forgiven.
• The kingdom of Sayyidina Sulaiman (as) was restored.
• Sayyidina Muhammad (ﷺ) married Sayyidatina Khadija (as).
• Sayyidina Imam Hussain(as) [the Holy Prophet’s (ﷺ), grandson] achieved the honor of Martyrdom in the battle of Karbala 61 AH (Oct 10, 680 AD) with his 72 family and Companions

Worship Allah (swt) as much as you can on ‘Ashura. Whoever fasts on this day is like one who fasts all his life. Whoever clothes a naked person Allah (swt) will release him from a painful punishment. He who visits a sick person, Allah (swt) will grant him a reward that will not be decreased. Whoever places his hand on an orphan’s head, or feeds a hungry person or gives water to a thirsty person, Allah will feed him a feast from Paradise and will quench his thirst with Salsabil (a wine that does not intoxicate). And who ever makes ghusl (shower) on this day will enjoy excellent health and freedom from sickness and laziness. Whoever provides generously for his family on this day, Allah (swt) will be generous to him throughout this year. And whoever applies kohl to his eyes will never suffer from eye-sore again, insha’Allah al-’Aziz. “

🌹The Significance of Muharram to the Naqshbandi Spiritual Path 🌹

Muharram is also a month of great importance to Naqshbandis. Our Master and Imam of the Tariqah [Master of Naqshbandi Sufi Path] Shah Bahauddin Naqshband (qaddas Allahu sirrah) was born on the 14th of Muharram. It is thus important and most desired that his followers congregate on the eve of this holy day for Khatm and Dhikr, read the Mawlid un Nabi (Praises on Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) in dedication to Mawlana Shah Naqshband, and read excerpts from his saintly life.
It is a tradition and practice of Sultan al Awliya Shaykh ‘Abdullah al Daghistani (qaddasallahu sirrah) to make Qurban (sacrifice) two sheeps on the day of ‘Ashura and distribute the meat to the poor and needy. He also did this on the birthday of Shah Naqshband (qaddasallahu sirrah).

🌹Fasting in Muharram 🌹

It is recommended to fast as many days as possible in the holy month of Muharram as mentioned below in Ahadith of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), especially fast the following holy days:
1. 1st of Muharram – Islamic New Year
2. 9th of Muharram – Night (preceding) of ‘Ashura
3. 10th of Muharram – Yawm al ‘Ashura
4. 14th of Muharram – Birthday of Shah Bahauddin Naqshband (Q)
5. Three days in a row; Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, [preferably on the first 10 days of Muharram]
6. Last day of Muharram

🌹Ahadith Regarding Fasting in Muharram and ‘Ashura🌹

1. The best of fasts besides the month of Ramadan is the fast during Allah’s month of Muharram and the best of Salaats besides the Fardh (obligatory Salaat) is the Tahajjud Salaah (performed after midnight). (Sahih Muslim).

2. Narrated from Ibn al’Abbas (radiAllahu ‘Anhu) that the Prophet (SallAllahu ʿalayhi wa sallam) said, “Whoever fasts the last day of Dhul Hijjah and the first day of Muharram, he completes a whole year’s worth of fasting in that previous year, and Allah gives him penance for fifty [50] years.”

3. Narrated from Anas (ra) that the Prophet (saw) said, “Whoever fasts the first Friday of Muharram Allah will forgive his preceding sins, and whoever fasts three days of Muharram – Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Allah will write for him worship and prayers for nine hundred [900] years.”

4. Narrated from ‘Aisha Umm al Mu’mineen (ra) (mother of the believers) that the Prophet (SallAllahu ʿalayhi wa sallam) said, “Whoever fasts the first ten days up till ‘Ashura, he will inherit the Paradise al-Firdaus.”

5. In another hadith the Prophet (SallAllahu ʿalayhi wa sallam) said, “Distinguish yourselves from (others) by fasting either the day before ‘Ashura or the day after it as well.” (Some scholars especially recommends to fast the day before Ashura (9th of Muharram)

7. Fasting of ‘Ashura is Sunnah Mu’akkadah, that which is highly desired. Prophet (SallAllahu ʿalayhi wa sallam) said, “Whoever fasts the ‘Ashura (10th Muharram), Allah will write for him a thousand [1000] wishes and a thousand years of age, and will grant him the reward of a thousand martyrs, and will write for him the reward of Isma`il (as), and writes for him seventy [70] palaces in paradise, and makes his flesh forbidden from the hellfire.”

8. In another hadith the Prophet (SallAllahu ʿalayhi wa sallam) said, “Whoever fasts the ‘Ashura, he will be granted the reward of a thousand angels. And whoever recites “Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad” a thousand [1000] times on the day of ‘Ashura, Allah will glance at him with the Eyes of Mercy, and will write him from amongst the Siddiqqin [The Truthful].”
