Bougival and Maisons-Laffitte Groups spring adventure camp at Moisson this last weekend.
Over 100 participants saw all 3 sections on the lake, orienteering and accrobranche to name a few of the activities. Weather on Saturday was perfect warm and sunny. Rain came on Sunday but only after all the tents were down and we were having lunch under the shelter.
Thanks to Karen and Paris Area Explorers for doing the catering.

The Beavers were invited to visit the Coulée Verte and learn about how our drinking water is produced from water deep underground. A fascinating insight into a very precious resource.

The Ligue pour la Protection des Oiseaux also introduced us to some of the birdlife that thrives on the ponds in the Coulée Verte.

It’s a pleasure working with the leaders and young people in this group. I love seeing the smiley happy faces at the meetings, events and camps. Knowing that they are happy, safe and learning in a super fun experience led way makes the hard work worth it.

Congratulations to Gina Russell who was presented with her Commendation Award and badge. Gina ís one of the GLVs on the leadership team at 1st Bougival Scout Group. This Group is one of the largest in the district both in terms of youth and adult volunteers.

Gina has been doing an amazing job keeping the Group compliant and organising numerous events and camps around the París Region as well as an international trip to the Kandersteg International Scout Centre in Switzerland.

Gina was presented with the award by Kenny Lee, DLV at the Friday Scouts meeting, who were meeting outdoors at a local park on an island in the River Seine.

Gina had been nominated by numerous volunteers at the Group for her loyalty, persistence, teamwork, time and maintaining a high quality work programme.

The Beavers spend a damp afternoon pond dipping and found water lice, damselfly larvae, diving beetles, water boatmen, pond skaters and millions of tadpoles, all safely returned to their homes after observation. They also found some chocolate eggs which were not returned to the wild.

Congratulations to Martin (Bagheera) and Vicky (Hathi) who received some well deserved awards this weekend..

Congratulations to Vicky and Martin Haines from the 1st Bougival Scout Group in París who were presented with several good and long service awards by District Lead Volunteer, Kenny Lee

Martin received the 10 years long service award.

Both Vicky and Martin received the Chief Scout’s Commendation for Good Service which was signed off by Dwayne Fields.

Congratulations to both Vicky and Martin and a massive thanks to your commitment, enthusiasm and time to the various sections at 1st Bougival. It really is appreciated by all the youth, leadership team and parents/carers.
