It will explore emerging practices, challenges, and opportunities for aligning emergency planning with SMR-specific characteristics, with the ultimate goal of ensuring that protective measures remain effective, proportionate and scientifically justified.

More than 280 experts from the international reactor physics community came together to advance international benchmarking activities and collaboration in modelling and simulation for reactor systems. 📊

These activities were part of the 2026 edition of the NEA Working Party on Scientific Issues and Uncertainty Analysis of Reactor Systems (WPRS) Benchmarks Workshop.

🤝 By comparing methods and sharing data, this work helps build confidence in reactor design and safety analysis tools.

The NEA Working Group on Analysis and Management of Accidents (WGAMA) provides an expert-driven forum where member countries work together to develop, assess and validate technical knowledge. 🤝
