Caritas Fiji was grateful to be invited to Lomary Primary School’s Earth Day Remembrance Celebration.

We had the opportunity to share about our work in the Social Ecological Justice space and the importance of caring for our Common Home, our environment and our communities.

It was a meaningful opportunity to connect with the students and remind them that caring for creation starts with each one of us.

We were especially grateful to share this message on World Humanitarian Day, a day that reminds us of the importance of compassion, solidarity and service to others.

Caritas Fiji brought together more than 60 senior secondary students from 30 schools across Fiji for a youth workshop focused on tackling the rising challenges of HIV transmission and drug-related health risks.

The workshop empowered students to co-create youth-friendly awareness campaigns while participating in a Safeguarding Awareness session, reinforcing every young person's right to be safe, respected, and heard.

Caritas Fiji was pleased to collaborate with the Ministry of Health & Medical Services - Fiji, represented by Dr. Emali.

As Dr. Emali shared:

"To protect young people, we must give them ownership of the narrative. We are empowering these students to translate complex health guidance into safe, everyday conversations that break down stigma and ultimately save lives."

At Caritas Fiji we continue to work on empowering young people to make informed choices and build healthier, safer communities.

Our Caritas team in support of YCC Day this Friday, 3 July, a day where young people and schools across Aotearoa come together in solidarity with their neighbours in Tonga.

This year, YCC Day will support and help Takuilau College, Tonga build a dedicated music room, giving students a space to learn, create and celebrate their culture through music.

Together, we can help bring this vision to life for the students of Tonga.

Caritas Fiji was privileged to participate in the Archdiocese of Suva Commissions Workshop, facilitated by The Archbishop Peter Loy Chong, bringing together Commission Vicars, Chairpersons, and members from across the Archdiocese.

The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for us to reflect on and align the pastoral priorities of each commission with the Archdiocese of Suva's Pastoral plan. Through dialogue, collaboration, and shared vision, participants worked towards strengthening synodality and fostering a more coordinated and pastorally healthy Church.

As a Commission of the Archdiocese, Caritas Fiji remains committed to serving with compassion, promoting justice, and working in partnership with the wider Church to build stronger, more resilient communities rooted in faith and the values of the Gospel.

As Caritas, we continue to answer the call to serve, accompany, and walk together in hope.

Caritas Fiji was privileged to partner with St Don Bosco Parish today to facilitate a Drug Awareness Session for the Youths of the parish, with over 80 participants in attendance.

The session provided a valuable and an opportunity space for learning and discussion, with presentations from the Fiji Police Force, Ministry of Health & Medical Services - Fiji, and a representative from Drug Free World. Their contributions helped raise awareness of the realities and impacts of drug use and HIV on the ground.

The programme also included a Spirituality Session by Fr. Nimilote, which complemented the day's awareness programme by encouraging the youth to reflect on their values, faith, and personal growth.

We were grateful to be given the opportunity to share the work and mission of Caritas Fiji to the attendees, highlighting our commitment to serving communities and empowering young people through advocacy, awareness, and social development initiatives.

At Caritas Fiji, we remain committed to working alongside young people—supporting and empowering them to become responsible individuals who can make informed and positive choices for their future.
