Today, Fiji Scouts Association was pleased to host a Disability & Inclusion Workshop with members of the Western Disability Centre.

The workshop included discussions on Scouting in Fiji, youth leadership, inclusion, and the recent Global Youth Mobilization supported disaster preparedness initiatives led by Fiji Scouts.

Preparations and planning discussions were also initiated towards launching an Inclusive Leadership Program under Fiji Scouts to further strengthen participation and leadership opportunities for persons with disabilities within communities and Scouting activities.

Participants will meet again in two weeks’ time to continue discussions and begin community disaster preparedness leadership activities in partnership with their respective village Turaga ni Koro and chief.

The Fiji Scout Association held its Annual General Meeting at the State House Suva on Friday May 1st chaired by His Excellency the President and Chief Scout We thank the Permanent Secretary for Youth & Sport for attending with Commissioners from the 28 Districts.
Special bravoooo to the sister Guide Commissioners who supported us.

UPDATE: MESSENGERS OF PEACE & GLOBAL YOUTH MOBILIZATION

As part of the Global Youth Mobilization project, our Assistant Project Leader Hazel recently led a 2-day online workshop with three youth leaders from the Northern Division, nominated by the Area Commissioner North.

The session helped prepare them to take on leadership roles and support scout activities in their communities in the coming weeks.
