World Surf Cities Network A collaborative network among cities developing surfing
🇪🇸🇵🇹🇫🇷🇨🇱🇵🇪🇧🇷🇪🇨🇦🇺🇳🇿🇿🇦

A collaborative network among cities that have a strategy to develop surfing as a social and economic wealth-creating activity. Cities in America, Africa, Europe and Oceania share their knowledge and collaborate on Surfing initiatives. What we do: The WSCN seeks to promote local economic activity (industry, tourism and local employment) through surf by sharing knowledge of ideas and cooperation in projects between surf cities. The Network is led by the city of Viana do Castelo (Presidency) in Europe and Arica (Vice Presidency) in South America, both with extensive experience in innovation management and international collaboration. Surf City: A surf city is an urban area where surf, the culture of surf and employment in industries related to the surf sector constitute a significant part of the economic, social and base of the city and where there is a surf industry formally recognised by the
administration of the city. Taking part in WSCN: The World Surf Cities Network is open to hosting new cities that want to become an international reference point through an evolutionary, transformative process thanks to the local development of surfing and its communities and public/private stakeholders. Managing surf tourism * Cooperation between cities * Development and employment * Sharing knowledge * R+D+I

The event brought the spirit of *Semilleros OLAS PRO TOUR* to Ericeira, a development circuit that is discovering new talent across Latin America and providing young surfers with unique opportunities to compete and grow as athletes.

🏄‍♀️ **THREE DAYS OF SURFING, DETERMINATION AND OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES!**

🌊 **DAY 1 | RIBEIRA D'ILHAS BEACH**

The competition kicked off in challenging conditions, with powerful waves exceeding three metres.

The day also featured celebrations marking 15 years of the World Surf Cities Network, including the unveiling of a commemorative plaque, the opening of an exhibition dedicated to the history of the *Caballito de Totora*, the construction of a replica of this ancestral Peruvian watercraft, and a surfing demonstration that thrilled the large crowd in attendance.

🏄 DAY 2 | PRAIA DOS PESCADORES AND RIBEIRA D'ILHAS

With the swell still particularly challenging for the younger athletes, the second day began at Praia dos Pescadores, with the youngest age categories taking to the water.

🔥 DAY 3 | PERFECT CONDITIONS FOR AN INCREDIBLE FINALS DAY!

The final day delivered exceptional conditions, with glassy seas and waves reaching up to 1.5 metres, creating a spectacular showcase of technical ability, creativity and determination.
