We are a small non profit charity initially set up to help re-home the abandoned , sick and mistreated dogs from the Protectora de Benidorm and surrounding areas

We are foster based and the dogs that we can help are placed in foster homes or private residence and we are responsible for theit care and wellbeing whilst in foster. We continue to work with the Prot

ectora de Benidorm promoting and safely re-homing as many dogs from the shelter as we can from the puppies to the oldies , long timers and the sick - working with Rescues and associations in the UK to safely and with Rescue Back Up re-home as many as we can. We receive no funding other than donations to help us do the work we do

There must be someone with no other pets or children, with a big heart to help Estrella have some comfort he so much need***

Estrella Dam is the longest resident in the shelter , entered mid 2015 , he entered as a young dog, and now as an older gent he would love a soft warm comfy bed of his own to call home . Estrella would need to be only animal.

Let your heart melt with Jodi 🩷

Jodi 🩷
This girl knows commands , walks easy on the lead , passes other dogs her size with no reaction , cries in her kennel.
Was perfect when meeting a child .
When abandoned by her family due to circumstances (baby) the shelter was told not good with small dogs and cats , Jodi has not been tested at shelter with either.

When it’s your 2 year gotcha and you think you are being taken for a special treat - to find yourself confused and scared back in the kennels you were adopted from 😰
Jodi is now looking for a forever home she deserves

Horus 💕 say hello to handsome and friendly Horus🐾 He is 4 years old used to live in a family with children and a cat and is a very good boy he walks great and is very obedient Horus was left to the shelter because the circumstances of the family changed and they were not able to care for him anymore if you like to know this fantastic dog please visit the shelter open mon-sat 9-13

Gorka 💕 from a family to a kennel 😞
this beautiful boy entered the shelter together with his little friend a Pomeranian now adopted both of them were brought to the shelter and Gorka is now ready for adoption
Gorka is very friendly and easy to walk , no reaction to other dogs . Child friendly
age ? we dont know exactly but seems young around 2-3 (just a guess)
Not cat tested but shows no reaction

es un perro precioso y bueno,llego a la protectora con su compañero ,un pequeño pomeranio,(adoptado)
y ahora ya busca un hogar quien le quiera ,Gorka parece joven no se sabe exactamente edad exacta pero parece joven ,unos 2-3 años (mas o menos)
Gorka es muy bueno y facil de pasear
no sabemos como es con gatos ni con otros perros pero no hay mala reaccion cuando pasea al lado de otros

Tiller 💙 arrived on June 6 2021 , found in Benidorm with a chain hanging from his neck 😢, Just look at him now with a little care he is friendly and loves his walks 😊 some ongoing training and an active family and this boy would blossom

BILBO is a boy of approx 4- 4.5 years old, he has found himself in kennels since April 2024 and now looking for a new home , Bilbo is friendly and loves his time with volunteers , if you would like to meet him , dog and cat tested , visit him at the Protectora de Benidorm Monday - Saturday 9-12,30

Luna has done nothing wrong , no crime nothing yet here she is spending 24/7 in a concrete kennel

Her dad passed away and Luna was taken to the shelter of Benidorm
She is so very calm and nice to walk , friendly meeting other dogs . Gentle when meeting older children .

🐾 Today we share these two beautiful cats: TOM and CHERRY who are looking for a new home after finding themselves in the Protectora 🐾

🤍🖤 TOM is the black-and-white male, just 1 year old.

🤍🩶 CHERRY is the white-and-grey female, 2 years old.

They have grown up together and share a very special bond. Due to extremely difficult family circumstances, and after months of trying to find a solution, they have sadly had to enter the shelter today.

Our greatest wish is to find them a loving home as soon as possible, where they can receive all the care and affection they deserve. That’s why we are asking for your help.

🤍🖤 TOM es el blanco y negro, un macho de apenas 1 año.

🤍🩶 CHERRY es la blanca y gris, una hembra de 2 añitos.

Han crecido juntos desde pequeños y son inseparables. Por circunstancias familiares muy difíciles, y tras varios meses intentando encontrar una solución, hoy han tenido que ingresar en el albergue.

Nuestro mayor deseo es encontrarles un hogar lo antes posible, donde puedan recibir todo el cariño que merecen. Por eso os pedimos vuestra ayuda.

Mona
now into her 8th year living in a kennel and yet she still smiles even though her eyes say otherwise, her only crime being unwanted 😰

Mona was found tied to a tree in January 2018 😲 , Mona has shared her pen with other dogs, female and male, now in a kennel on her own , she is bossy and not good with submissive dogs and needs an experienced owner , no other pets .
She looks to be around 8 /9 years old

Mona fue encontrada en jan-18 atada a una farola con bozal puesto y con signos de haber sido mamá recientemente pero no se encontró sus cachorros, tendrá unos 8 /9 años Comparte jaula con un macho Turco y otra hembra Bailey y se llevan bien Pero Mona puede ser dominante y tiene su caracter Visita a Mona lu-sab 9-12,30
