A Santuary on the Mountain for Old Souls, we fund ourselves by asking for a sponser for each dog. Contact us for more details. THE HISTORY PART

Silver Paws - La Cruz started out called "Tufas Trust" and was founded by Rich and Sam Mayfield in 2002, one year before they started "The Orange House" an adventure centre and hostel in Finestrat, the "day job" you could say and bill payer. The first dog rescued by the couple was a huskie cross kept in horrible conditions. Rich had to jump over a fence to retrieve her. That was the start of many, many dogs been given the chance of a much better life. In 2025 after rehoming 1000s of dogs we have now decided to have a change of direction
We thank you with all our hearts for a euro or many euros it's all as important to the animals.

So yesterday our giant boy left us for his third time lucky forever home with Katie Hopwood in France.

Rex, we are soooooo glad you have gone BUT in the best way as he so wanted his own humans.

HomeWardBound of course transported him to France for us and Katie sent me these photos in the early hours of this morning.

What do we think guys???

Has he landed on all 4 giant paws or what?

My wood is magical, I can't believe how much I adore it down there and so do the dogs.

Here I am with Shep, Melissa, Gracie and Ernie.

All the others are off having a paddle.

6 years ago little Mary was in a shelter and she was reversed for PINS, but sadly tested positive for leish so she couldn't go to the UK. That's just their policy.

So she stayed for all that time sleeping in a shower tray of the foster home and staying away from the other dogs.

She came to me at the beginning of the year and slowly started to come out of her shell and just loved her walks with us.

Then the miracle happened and Jeannette at Huize Zwerfhond put her name forward to a lady in Belgium.

Look at these photos I was sent last week. My heart bursts with happiness that finally "Mary found her person".

Dona I can't believe it's been so many years. She must have still been an only dog back then.

Last week Rachel Slade (Puppy HQ) asked could we maybe help with another Mommy who has had her babies and now no one wants her. (Same place as Mabel).

She is only 4, a Beagle cross only 12 kilos with what looks like a dislocated hip. Could be another old injury like Jenny, nothing we can do.

She had her babies in someone's shed, unwanted and alone until Rachel saved her. She had huge babies and now 12 months later it's her time...

SHALL I TAKE HER? I am so full BUT I have rehomed alot recently.

I have just had "the best day", why you ask?

1. Because I didn't speak to anyone but my doggies.

2. I got to organise my dog room. I love that cupboards are all arranged by drug type, treatments etc. We will fit a dog bath in here and it will also be the grooming place. Ekkk how exciting.

3. I got an update about Mary loved in Belgium and Dobby loved in England.

4. I finally got my beds I ordered ages ago, money sent from Tracey Townsend Hoole. Thank you xx

Robinson it's your time to shine...

Yesterday he visited the dog show in La Cala and I was blown away how well he did. Confident in a new and super busy environment. He listened and was friendly with humans and other dogs he met.

Robinson is 5 years old and has spent all his young life in a shelter. His siblings got homes and he was left alone. How sad...

I am told he is a Belgium Shepherd and I must admit he does look and act like one. Clever and focused, active yet also super loving. Fabulous dog all round.

He needs a home that will spend a lot of time with him and give him alot of physical and mental stimulation. He is no couch potato.

Who is Robinsons special human?
