Saturday mornings just got better. ¡Hola! 💚

Beginner Spanish for Adults. Every Saturday. And honestly? It doesn't matter where you are or what you're going through—learning matters. Growing matters. Connecting matters.

This is where a woman from Ukraine learns alongside someone from Syria. Where a teacher becomes a student. Where "Hola, me llamo..." turns into real friendships, real laughter, and real confidence.

You don't need to be perfect. You don't need to have it all figured out. You just need to show up, be brave enough to stumble over your words, and let yourself be part of something bigger.

Because here's the thing: every word you learn is a door opening. Every conversation is a bridge building. Every Saturday morning with this crew reminds us that we're not alone—we're part of a global family learning, laughing, and living together.

🌍 What does courage look like at age 7?

For Marcus in Kyiv, it looks like showing up to every class—English, Spanish, Japanese, reading, yoga—week after week, even when the world outside is anything but calm. Yesterday, as we welcomed Maricarla (all the way from Nicaragua, now studying in Missouri!) to our Teachers for Peace family, Marcus’s mum quietly shared that they could hear drones and rockets outside. Right then. In that moment.

And yet, there was Marcus. Smiling, learning Spanish, being a kid. His mum later said, “I stay calm because he always watches my reaction.”

Sometimes people ask what difference a free online class can make. For Marcus, it means routine, friendship, and a little bit of normal in a world that’s anything but. For his mum, it means hope—and a reminder she’s not alone.

This is why we do what we do. If you believe in the power of learning and connection, you’re already part of our community. 💛

In a single online classroom last week, we witnessed something extraordinary.

A medical graduate from Syria—now pursuing a PhD in Europe—sat alongside a master's-level English scholar from the same country. Both are living under extremist rule, both are determined to escape through education, and both are teaching themselves IELTS while navigating daily threats to their safety.

They weren't alone. They were joined by students from Ukraine, Afghanistan, and volunteers from around the world—all in one Zoom room, all learning together.

This is what Teachers for Peace does. We don't just teach English. We connect people living the crisis with people building the solutions. We create spaces where a cardiologist can study for a PhD program, where a teacher can practice speaking with confidence, where hope isn't just a word—it's a lived experience in a global classroom.

Syria is our newest chapter, and it's growing organically. Students are finding us, asking for more, and we're answering. Because education isn't a luxury in a crisis—it's resistance. It's a pathway. It's proof that even in the darkest moments, learning creates possibility.

We're just getting started.
