SMSA Sohag Medical Students' Association "SMSA" The organization is a form of free students’ activity, having scientific, cultural and social activities.

Sohag Medical Student Association (SMSA) is a non-profit student entity that is formed of medical students studying at SOHAG University’s Faculty of Medicine. It is independent of the Student Unions and their activities, and abiding by the rules of Sohag University’s Faculty of Medicine. The organization is an autonomous affiliate member of the International Federation of Medical Students’ Association in Egypt (IFMSA-Egypt) a branch of the International Federation of Medical Students’ Association (IFMSA). It consists of 6 committees & 4 Support Divisions
1- Standing Committee On Professional Exchange (SCOPE)
2- Standing Committee On Research Exchange (SCORE)
3- Standing Committee On Public Health (SCOPH)
4- Standing Committee On Reproductive Health including AIDS (SCORA)
5- Standing Committee On Medical Education (SCOME)
6- Standing Committee On Human Rights & Peace (SCORP)
7- Capacity Building Support Division (CBSD)
8- Projects Support Division (PSD)
9- Publication and New technology Support Division (PNSD)
10- Research Support Division (RSD)

A new term begins, and with it comes a new chapter in the journey of Sohag Medical Students’ Association (SMSA).
Year after year, SMSA gives medical students a space to build skills, join community initiatives, explore global health, and grow with people who share the same passion.
Today, we officially open registration for SMSA-Sohag 26/27.
Whether you’re joining for the first time or continuing your journey, there’s a place for you here to learn, contribute, lead, and create lasting experiences.
As a full member of IFMSA-Egypt and IFMSA, SMSA connects you to workshops, campaigns, national events, and student exchange opportunities inside and outside Egypt.

يبدأ ترم جديد، ومعه تبدأ صفحة جديدة في رحلة الجمعية العلمية لطلاب طب سوهاج (SMSA).
عامًا بعد عام، تظل SMSA مساحة يتعلم فيها طلاب الطب خارج قاعات الدراسة، ويطورون مهارات حقيقية، ويشاركون في المبادرات المجتمعية، ويتعرفون على مفاهيم الصحة العالمية، وينمون وسط مجتمع يشاركهم نفس الشغف والطموح.
واليوم، نعلن رسميًا فتح باب التسجيل في SMSA-Sohag 26/27.
سواء كانت هذه خطوتك الأولى معنا أو كنت تكمل رحلتك، فمكانك موجود بيننا؛ مكان تتعلم فيه، وتشارك، وتقود، وتعيش تجارب تظل جزءًا من قصتك.
وباعتبار SMSA عضوًا كاملًا في IFMSA-Egypt وIFMSA، تفتح لك العضوية أبوابًا من الورش والأنشطة والحملات والفعاليات الوطنية إلى فرص التبادل الطلابي داخل مصر وخارجها.

At the Pre-4th NGA, we are proud to bring together a remarkable community of participants and trainers through our League of Workshops , individuals who believe that growth is not a destination, but a continuous journey of learning, sharing, and creating impact.
Every workshop is more than a session.
Every discussion is more than an exchange of ideas.
Through Capacity Building, we create spaces where people can discover their potential, strengthen their skills, challenge their perspectives, and develop the confidence to turn what they learn into meaningful action.
Today, we celebrate the people who chose to show up, learn, contribute, and grow together.

Nareman for IFMSA-Egypt RSDD 2026/27 💛
Nareman’s journey with SMSA-Sohag says a lot about who she is. She took on different roles throughout her journey, including serving as SMSA-Sohag RSDD in 2023/24, before joining the RSD National Team as an LCs DA for the term 2024/25.

But her journey with RSD never really stopped. She remains an active member of SMSA-Sohag until today, constantly showing up, contributing, and taking part in our activities. ❤️

From serving her LC, to contributing on the national level, Nareman has always been part of RSD and always found a way to give back.

And now, she’s taking the next step.
With more responsibility and wider scope.

We support Nareman as our Candidate for IFMSA-Egypt RSDD 2026/27 💛💛
She has been part of the journey. Now, we get to support her in leading what comes next. ❤️

Omar Hamdy for IFMSA-Egypt National Public Health Officer 2026/27 🧡

Omar’s path with SCOPH says a lot about who he is. He started as Local Public Health Officer back in 23/24, then joined the SCOPH National Team where he worked on public health efforts across Egypt, and later made it onto the SCOPH International Team, representing Egypt abroad and bringing what he learned back home.

As our President for the 2025/26 term, Omar was the one we trusted to speak for us, the one who carried our vision when we couldn’t always put it into words ourselves. Whenever things got complicated and the association needed someone to step up, he was that person. ❤️

Running an LC isn’t a small job, and Omar felt every bit of that responsibility. He made sure people were heard, that effort didn’t go unnoticed, that wins were actually celebrated. Through the hard decisions and the good moments, he stayed present, not because the title made him, but because he actually cared about the people around him. ❤️

From leading SMSA to running for IFMSA-Egypt, this is the next step, more responsibility, more people to represent, and a vision that isn’t limited to just one LC anymore.

On June 29th, our SMSA members visited Sohag General Hospital to mark Blood Donation Day. Working alongside the Egyptian Blood Bank, we spent the day raising awareness about how important, and life-saving donating blood really is.

Through our physical campaign, we talked with people about who can donate, how often they can donate, the benefits for both donors and recipients, and addressed the common misconceptions and fears surrounding blood donation.

Many people took the step to donate blood, turning a simple act of kindness into a chance to save a life.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, supported the campaign, and chose to make a difference.

انتقلت إلى رحمة الله تعالى زميلتنا الدكتورة الزهراء عبدالله محمد محمد دفعة ٣٦ طب سوهاج

نسأل الله تعالى أن يغفر لها ويرحمها، ويعافها ويعف عنها وأن يكرم نزلها ويوسع مدخلها، ويغسلها بالماء والثلج والبرد، وينقها من الذنوب والخطايا كما ينقى الثوب الأبيض من الدنس، ويبدلها دارا خيرا من دارها وأهلا خيرا من أهلها، وأن يقها فتنة القبر وعذاب النار، وأن يدخلها الفردوس الأعلى من الجنة ، اللهم اقبل أحسن عملها وتجاوز عن سيئاتها وألحقها بالشهداء والصديقين والصالحين، وألهم أهلها وأحبابها الصبر والسلوان.

فيه حاجات كتير في حياتنا بنعتبرها حقائق دلوقتي… لكن هل عمرنا فكرنا مين بدأ رحلة البحث عن الحقيقة دي؟
البحث العلمي مش مجرد تجارب أو أرقام، لكنه رحلة بدأت من فضول الإنسان ورغبته في فهم العالم من حواليه، وتطورت مع الوقت على إيد علماء ساهموا في تشكيل العلم بالشكل اللي نعرفه النهارده.
مشوار كل اكتشاف بدأ بسؤال… فـ تُرى، إيه السؤال اللي ممكن يكون بداية اكتشافك؟
