As part of the Run for the SDGs, organized by UNDP Egypt and The British University in Egypt, the UNDP Employment Hub brought the energy beyond the track—connecting partners driving youth employment and development.

At our annual Run for the , hosted by The British University in Egyptypt in partnership with UNDP Egypt, the UNDP Employment Hub spotlighted a curated group of SMEs supported under our Green Growth Jobs Accelerator Project ( ).

From innovative ideas to real hiring opportunities, the space showcased how these businesses are turning into action—connecting young people to jobs, while helping SMEs grow, scale, and reach new audiences.

From strategy to impact in Beni Suef 🇪🇬

Chitose Noguchi visited Beni Suef to advance collaboration on local economic development and decentralization, as part of a joint project implemented with the Ministry of Local Development and funded by the European Union. During the visit, she met with Governor General Abdalla Abdel Aziz to discuss how the governorate’s strategic vision can be translated into concrete investments, strengthened service delivery, and expanded job opportunities.

She also engaged with the Socio-Economic Council and local stakeholders on strengthening planning systems, enhancing governance effectiveness, and unlocking investment opportunities across priority sectors 📊—with a focus on turning priorities into implementable, high-impact local programmes.

In Sumesta District, she met with farmers, community leaders, and private sector representatives to support the development of the medicinal and aromatic plants value chain 🌿. With over 250,000 direct beneficiaries and a reach of more than 3.6 million people, the Sumesta Center brings together farmer services, processing and sterilization, and advanced laboratory testing through the Residue Analysis Unit—creating the conditions for private sector investment, value addition, and access to competitive global markets 📦.

A continued commitment to advancing inclusive, sustainable development and delivering tangible results for the people of Beni Suef.
