🪸 Protecting ’s coral reefs means protecting biodiversity, livelihoods and the future of sustainable tourism.

Yesterday, UNDP Egypt Deputy Resident Representative Ghimar Deeb met with H.E. Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Environment, to discuss the establishment of the Egyptian Fund for Coral Reefs.

UNDP Egypt is proud to work with the Ministry to explore new pathways to finance coral reef protection and restoration, while mobilizing private sector investment.

Together, we can invest in a healthier and a more sustainable future for the region.

Young people from across came together for the International Youth Day 2026 National Youth Dialogue under the theme “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations.”

With the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the dialogue brought together diverse youth voices, government representatives and UN agencies to share experiences, challenges and aspirations, facilitated by the UN Egypt Youth Advisory Board (YAB).

UNDP Egypt nominated eight young participants from the Danish-Egyptian Dialogue Initiative (DEDI) and the Green Growth and Jobs Accelerator Project (GGJAP) across four tracks covering employment, entrepreneurship, education, future-ready skills, youth participation and community engagement. Alumnus also contributed perspectives on youth engagement and innovation.



اجتمع شباب من مختلف أنحاء #مصر في الحوار الوطني للشباب بمناسبة اليوم العالم للشباب 2026، تحت شعار «سياقات مختلفة، تطلعات مشتركة».

وبالتعاون مع وزارة الشباب والرياضة، جمع الحوار أصواتًا شبابية متنوعة، وممثلين عن الحكومة ووكالات الأمم المتحدة، لتبادل الخبرات والتحديات والتطلعات، بتيسير من المجلس الاستشاري للشباب التابع للأمم المتحدة في مصر.

رشّح برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي في مصر ثمانية شباب للمشاركة من مبادرة الحوار الدنماركي المصري ومشروع تسريع النمو الأخضر وفرص العمل، ضمن أربعة مسارات تناولت التوظيف، وريادة الأعمال، والتعليم، والمهارات المستقبلية، ومشاركة الشباب والمشاركة المجتمعية. كما أسهم خريجو البرامج في إثراء الحوار بوجهات نظر حول مشاركة الشباب والابتكار.

We are delighted to announce that the COP31 Simulation Programme is now held under the auspices of the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA) within the Ministry of Local Development and Environment.

لو مؤسس شركة، وغواص، وصانع قرار سياسي قعدوا على طاولة واحدة... إيه اللي ممكن يحصل؟

أول معمل حي داعم للشعاب المرجانية في مصر جمع ممثلين من الحكومة،والجامعات، والقطاع الخاص، والمجتمع المدني، والمجتمعات المحلية على ساحل البحر الأحمر.

كان عندهم هدف واحد: يفهموا التحديات والفرص الموجودة، ويشوفوا طرق توفير بيئة داعمة تساعد المشروعات الريادية اللي بتحمي الشعاب المرجانية على النمو.

وجهات نظر مختلفة. طاولة واحدة. لأن أفضل الحلول تأتي من العمل المشترك.

باستضافة Acasia بالشراكة مع جامعة هليوبوليس، جزء من المبادرة المصرية للبحر الأحمر، مشروع يتم انفاذه من خلال برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي (UNDP) في مصر بالشراكة مع وزارة التنمية المحلية والبيئة، وبدعم من الصندوق العالمي للشعاب المرجانية.

Hosted by Acasia in partnership with Heliopolis University, as part of the Egyptian Red Sea Initiative (ERSI), implemented by UNDP Egypt in partnership with the Ministry of Local Development and Environment and the Global Fund for Coral Reefs.⁩
