So what does the "3" in 3 Mariposas Montessori represent?
1. CHILDREN: Each young learner is given the tools and encouragement to reach his/her highest potential as a member of a family and a community. By using the Montessori philosophy, our children become creative, responsible, inquisitive, and confident individuals. 3MM students represent a wide range of nationalities and cultures. 7 out of 1
0 of 3MM students live in poverty and attend 3MM on full scholarship.
2. PARENTS: Parents are active volunteers at 3MM, whether it be the gardener, the snack rep, or the reading buddy. Their involvement in the learning process, inside as well as outside of school, is a priority at 3MM. Parents are involved in the decision-making process and given the support and resources to create a healthier, happier and more stimulating home environment.
3. TEACHERS: 3MM encourages its teachers and volunteers to further their education. They receive daily, hands-on Montessori mentoring and scholarships from 3MM to become certified Montessori educators. 3MM trains and hires teachers from the community in order to create employment opportunities and establish a sustainable model for education in the Dominican Republic.
