📅 After 3 years, the Miranda EU Project has concluded its journey! All partners worked really hard to build inclusive environments for all that foster equality and fairness in education.

Our desk research across six European countries : Spain, Germany, Greece, North Macedonia, Romania and Sweden — reveals that Roma Persons with Physical Disabilities (PWPD) face multiple and interconnected barriers to healthcare.
Physical inaccessibility, digital exclusion, complicated administrative procedures, financial difficulties and limited access to information can make healthcare difficult to reach.
At the same time, the lack of reliable data on Roma PWPD can make their needs invisible in policies and decision-making.
One important finding stands out: Roma Health Mediators play a crucial role as bridge-builders between Roma communities and healthcare services.
Through ROMINDIS, we aim to better understand these challenges and contribute to more accessible, inclusive and equitable healthcare for Roma Persons with Physical Disabilities.
Because being invisible in the data should never mean being invisible in society.

☀️ As the summer holidays slowly wind down, new meetings are already on the horizon…

Our XXI Adults partners meeting proved more than useful: it marked the close of WP3 and gave space to share piloting experiences across:

🇧🇦 Bosnia
🇬🇷 Greece
🇵🇹 Portugal
🇵🇱 Poland
🇩🇪 Germany &
🇪🇸 Spain

These pilots bring a proven methodology into adult centers and organizations working with adults, young adults, NEETs, migrants, and people seeking new opportunities for a stronger economic future.

Step by step, we’re showing how collaboration can turn challenges into real change. 🌍📚

📢 XXIAdults Piloting

As part of Work Package 3 of the XXIAdults project, adults, teachers, youth trainers and representatives of interested organisations were testing and discussing selected good practices and the project’s educational approach.

💻 The piloting focused especially on Digital Media Literacy and Techniques and Tools for E-learning, while also addressing fake news, conspiracy theories and the challenges adults face when navigating today’s digital information environment.

The workshop created space to test practical methods, exchange experiences and collect valuable feedback from adults, NEETs, migrants and professionals. These insights will support the further adaptation of adult education approaches to the realities and skills needs of the 21st century.

🤝 Learning, digital inclusion, cooperation and innovation remain at the heart of the XXIAdults journey.

🕯️ We Remember 🕯️

On 2 August – Roma Holocaust Memorial Day, we honour the memory of the thousands of Roma men, women, and children who were murdered during the Holocaust.

Remembering the past is not only about paying tribute to those who suffered, but also about standing together against discrimination and injustice today.

✊ We Remember. We fight for a better future.

🌍 Today we connected online with our Ašun Me partners to plan the next steps!

During the meeting, we discussed the upcoming National Info Days, which will bring together key stakeholders across Romania, Germany, Greece, Spain, North Macedonia, and Ireland, including Roma youth associations and clubs, Roma mediators' associations, Roma CSOs and Roma-led networks, Roma community leaders, pro-Roma organisations supporting the civic engagement and rights of Roma youth and communities, organisations and foundations promoting inclusive civic engagement, adult educators and formal and non-formal adult education providers working in civic education, policymakers at local, regional and national levels, municipalities, and many more.

In September, project partners and key stakeholders will also come together for the Ašun Me Final Conference in Barcelona, Spain. The event will raise awareness of the importance of increasing the participation of young Roma in public life, particularly in policy advocacy, monitoring and decision-making processes. 🗣️✨

The statistics in this post are not just numbers. They reflect the consequences of systems that continue to exclude Roma disabled people from equal access to healthcare.
Health inequalities are reinforced by discrimination, poverty, inaccessible services, and the persistent marginalisation of Roma communities.
Equal healthcare requires more than medical services. It requires removing barriers, challenging prejudice, and ensuring that every person is treated with dignity, respect, and on an equal basis with others.
Through collaboration between Roma Health Mediators and healthcare professionals, the Rom-In-Dis works to reduce health inequalities and promote healthcare systems that are accessible, inclusive, and equitable for Roma people with mobility impairments
