The future of tourism will depend heavily on whether it will develop in a way which is socially responsible towards the people in the destination areas. Therefore, tourism related projects and measures whose planning and realisation ensure the involvement of the different interests and requirements of the local people through participation can be entered for the contest TO DO! The award ceremony takes place annually in March during the International Tourism Exchange in Berlin/Germany.

The next step begins now: over the coming weeks, our pre-selection jury will carefully review all submissions before they are evaluated by our independent international jury.

"I applied for the TO DO Award because I wanted the world to see what a small community in the Nuratau Mountains had built. Nuratau CBT Network grew from a small project in 2006. We started with just a few homestay families. Today it is a real network, and tourism has become a steady income for local people, not just an idea on paper.
Winning the TO DO Award changed a lot for us. It gave us credibility we couldn't buy. Doors opened with international operators and journalists. Since 2023, we've kept building — new homestays, new guides trained, new partnerships with UK and European operators. The award didn't just recognize what we did. It pushed us to keep going."
