מכתב סירוב חדש: אנו מסרבים בזאת!
אנו, בני ובנות נוער המיועדות לגיוס, מסרבות בזאת לקחת חלק בפשעי הצבא ולשרת אינטרסים של ממשלת הדיקטטורה.

כולנו גדלנו על המיתוס שמדינת ישראל פועלת רק כדי להגן על עצמה. מערכת החינוך דואגת לזעזע אותנו מגיל צעיר כדי שנאמין ש"אין ברירה", ושלנצח נחיה על חרבנו. בתי הספר מכינים אותנו לצבא תוך הטמעת השיח המיליטריסטי. תרגולים לקראת מבחנים צבאיים או שיחות עם חיילים הם חלק משגרת היום יום בתיכון. אבל האמת היא שהצבא הוא לא גזירת גורל - אף אחד לא נולד חייל. וכמו כל בחירה אחרת, לבחירה להתגייס יש השלכות.
בשנתיים האחרונות נחשפנו, בחדשות וברשתות החברתיות לתכנים קשים ואלימים מהשבעה באוקטובר. אבל מה שהתחיל כתגובת נגד לטבח הנורא המשיך בהשמדה אכזרית של תושבי עזה בסדרי גודל שאנו לא יכולים לתפוס. ומה התוצאות של פעולות הצבא? לפי נתונים שצה"ל עצמו מכיר בהם, מעל 72,000 תושבי עזה נהרגו מאז תחילת המלחמה, רבים מתוכם נשים, ילדים ואף תינוקות. למרות הפסקת האש - רצח עם, טיהור אתני ופשעי מלחמה עדיין נמשכים.
בנוסף, בתקופה האחרונה חלה עלייה דרסטית באלימות של מתנחלים וחיילים בגדה המערבית. תופעה זו לא חדשה. כבר עשרות שנים שהמדינה, באמצעות הצבא, מדכאת את העם הפלסטיני, מספחת שטחים, מפעילה אלימות כלפי הפלסטינים והפלסטיניות תושבות הגדה - והכל כחלק ממדיניות טיהור אתני של הארץ. הצבא פוגע, הורג ועוצר ללא משפט א.נשים וביניהן ילדים וילדות בגילנו. הדבר היחיד שמבדיל בינן לבינינו הוא העובדה שהן נולדו בצד "הלא נכון" של הגבול. תחשבו: האם אלו פעולות של צבא הגנה?
המלחמות הבלתי פוסקות גובות מכולנו מחיר עצום: פציעות פיזיות ונפשיות לכל החיים, ריצה למקלטים ועוד ועוד הותר לפרסום. האם אתן מוכנות להיכנס לסטטיסטיקה? האם אתן מוכנות להקרבה כזאת עבור ממשלת דיקטטורה צינית שסוחרת בחיי אדם למען חיזוק שלטונה?
אנחנו מסרבות לקחת חלק בעוולות מוסריות.
אנחנו מסרבות לשתף פעולה עם ממשלה פשיסטית.
אנחנו מסרבות להמשיך את מעגל הדמים!

Connection e.V. participated in EBCO - European Bureau for Conscientious Objection General Assembly and discussed with partners and colleagues about the situation of conscientoous objection in Europe, ongoing actions and possible joint efforts.

📍 We have some special news to share!

📜 Today, on the International Day of Conscientious Objection, we are launching our publication: 'Voices of Peace, Stories of Conscientious Objectors from Europe and beyond.'

💡 Conscientious objectors are people who refuse the war system. This can mean refusing to serve, wanting to leave the army after joining, refusing to be enlisted, refusing to train for war, or refusing to support or take part in any war activities.

🗨️ Join us in reading inspiring stories from objectors in eight countries: Belgium, Greece, Eritrea, Türkiye, Israel, Finland, Russia, and Spain.

Each story is unique and comes from a different background. From Spanish artists to Russian human rights activists, the desire to live in peace transcends gender, age, and location.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who took part and shared their stories. This publication would not exist without you. 💙

A video from Southern Beirut that quickly went viral shows cellist Mahdi Sàhêli performing Andantino by Aram Khachaturian while seated atop a pile of rubble, a day after Israel bombed Lebanon. In our latest issue, which honours creativity in the midst of calamity, he reveals why this haunting act of defiance was his response to the devastation of war. “When I stood on the street, surrounded by destruction, the silence was unbearable. Not literally, because war is never truly quiet, but in the moral absence that follows. I took the cello there because it was the most honest response I had,” Sàhêli reflects. “With the video going viral amid the ongoing conflict in Lebanon, it carries a different kind of weight – not only as a reflection of a difficult moment, but of what it means to continue making music in the shadow of repeated violence.”
