Today we celebrate the 69th birthday of guitarist Brad Gillis, one of the most recognizable guitar heroes to emerge from the late ’70s and ’80s rock scene.

Best known as a founding member of Night Ranger, Brad helped create a string of rock radio favorites including “Don’t Tell Me You Love Me,” “When You Close Your Eyes,” “Sentimental Street,” and “Sister Christian.” His distinctive whammy bar work, soaring solos, and melodic playing style made him one of the most unique guitarists of his era.

Many rock fans also remember Brad’s brief but important role with Ozzy Osbourne following the tragic loss of Randy Rhoads in 1982. Stepping into an incredibly difficult situation, Gillis helped keep Ozzy’s touring band moving forward and appeared on the live album Speak of the Devil, earning the respect of rock fans around the world.

More than four decades later, Brad Gillis remains one of rock’s most underrated guitar masters, still bringing energy, passion, and that unmistakable sound to audiences everywhere.

Happy Birthday - 66 Jahre alt wird heute Steven Siro Vai (* 6. Juni 1960 auf Long Island, New York) ist ein US-amerikanischer Gitarrist, Komponist und Produzent. Erste größere Bekanntheit erlangte er ab Anfang der 1980er-Jahre in der Band von Frank Zappa – aufgrund seiner Virtuosität von diesem als „Stunt-Gitarrist“ bezeichnet – und anschließend als Gitarrist für David Lee Roth.
