Founded in 2001, Geten, Center for LGBTIQA People's Rights (formerly Gayten) mission is to contribute to creation and implementation of legislation and overall societal change including the removal of all forms of discrimination against LGBTIQA people. Our vision is full integration, affirmation and respect of primarily TIQ, but also LGB people, their human rights, culture and existence in the Ser
bian society, as well as sensitization of the general population to the existence and rights of (LGB)TIQ. Our mission is the contribution to the creation and implementation of comprehensive legislation (in line with EU standards and best practices) and one comprehensive gender identity law based on self-determination and full depsychopathologisation. We want to assist in smooth and swift functioning of Serbian institutions relevant to TIQ people's position, educate and train relevant stake-holders and create social environment dedicated to the removal of all forms of discrimination and violence against LGBTIQ people. Below are some of Geten's ongoing activities:
➢ Analyzing laws, legislation and positive practices, especially in the domain of legal gender recognition - both national and international, EU standards and recommendations

➢ Work on the adoption and implementation of Protocols for police and the Directorate for ex*****on of criminal sanctions related to adequate treatment of incarcerated trans and non-binary persons or in situations of stop and frisk and arrest
➢ Continue our work on improving health care for TIQ people through cooperation with Belgrade Gender identity team, the Republic expert commission for transgender states, etc. Work on decentralisation of medical services in transspecific healthcare throughout Serbia
➢ Conducting and publishing research on TIQ position and rights in Serbia
➢ Providing free psychological aid and assistance in the form of individual psychological consultations, counseling and psychotherapy
➢ Providing support and assistance to LGBTIQ people through LGBTIQ SOS Helpline
➢ Establishing Support Group Programs - Providing support, assistance and information to trans, intersex and gender non-conforming people through our Trans support group meetings
➢ Mapping LGR processes worldwide, informing the public on TIQ topics in politics, culture, law, medicine, everyday life; Creating content for the community (articles, columns, interviews, videos and visuals, etc.), translating and publishing relevant documents and presenting it all via our web site, transserbia.org; Providing services such as TIQ Forum and LGBTIQ Balkan Chat server as meeting and networking places for the community
➢ Monitoring, documenting and reporting on violence and discrimination cases and submitting reports on the state of human rights in Serbia to international human rights organisations
➢ Providing legal aid to (LGB)TIQ people and assistance in communication with relevant institution
➢ Organising round table/panel discussions, demos, political performance, movie screenings, benefit events, parties
➢ Upon invitation giving lectures to university students on the position and rights of LGB(TIQ) people in Serbia;
➢ Organising press conferences; Giving interviews, announcements and reactions to relevant media outlining the position of TIQ people in Serbia and the issues and problems they are facing
➢ Organising Fundraising events for our trans members/trans community;
➢ Supporting the organisation of LGBTIQ Pride in Serbia since its inception; Co-organised the first pride in Belgrade, Serbia in 2001; Membership in Belgrade pride Organisational and Advisory boards;
➢ Monitoring implementation of the Committee of Ministers' Recommendations, Council of Europe, ILGA, the European Institute for Gender Equality, etc.
➢ Support the advance of TIQ rights in the neighboring countries
➢ Always supporting those in most need
