ABF 2026 : LE TOP DÉPART EST DONNÉ !
Réunis au siège de l'Union africaine à Addis-Abeba, en Éthiopie, du 17 au 19 Août, le Commissariat général, le Comité scientifique et l'équipe projet de Abidjan Border Forum 2026, ainsi que la Commission de l’Union africaine, ont finalisé et adopté les bases scientifiques et organisationnelles de cette rencontre continentale.
Cette réunion a permis de finaliser la note conceptuelle, de structurer les panels, d'identifier les experts et les modérateurs, et de définir la feuille de route jusqu’à ce grand rendez-vous continental d’Abidjan, qui se déroulera du 20 au 22 octobre 2026, autour du thème : « Les peuples aux frontières : culture, intégration et sécurité ».
Après les éditions de 2022 et 2024, ABF ambitionne de franchir une nouvelle étape en devenant la plateforme continentale des acteurs frontaliers africains, portée conjointement par la Côte d'Ivoire à travers la CNFCI et la Commission de l'Union africaine.
Pour rappel, ce forum sera l'occasion pour les États, les experts de l'UA, les responsables des communautés économiques régionales, les chercheurs, les partenaires au développement ainsi que les populations frontalières de réfléchir, d'échanger et d'apporter des solutions durables aux problématiques liées à la gouvernance des frontières africaines.
Rendez-vous est donc pris du 20 au 22 octobre 2026 à Abidjan pour ABF 2026 !
ABF 2026: THE COUNTDOWN HAS BEGUN!
Meeting at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 17 to 19 August, the General Secretariat, the Scientific Committee and the project team of the Abidjan Border Forum 2026, together with the African Union Commission, finalised and adopted the scientific and organisational framework for this continental gathering.
This meeting enabled the finalisation of the concept note, the structuring of the panels, the identification of experts and moderators, and the definition of the roadmap leading up to this major continental event in Abidjan, which will take place from 20 to 22 October 2026, centred on the theme: border Communities : culture, integration and security’.
Following the 2022 and 2024 editions, ABF aims to take a further step forward by becoming the continental platform for African border stakeholders, jointly supported by Côte d’Ivoire through CNFCI and the African Union Commission.
As a reminder, this forum will provide an opportunity for states, AU experts, leaders of regional economic communities, researchers, development partners and border communities to reflect, exchange views and propose sustainable solutions to issues relating to the governance of African borders.
So mark your calendars: ABF 2026 will take place from 20 to 22 October 2026 in Abidjan!
