May came and went so fast!!!

We had a busy and fun month over here at Ingamo 🤗☀️💃🏼

We joined for the Red Dress Event on May 5th. We were happy to see a lot of the community and to join in on this special event! ❤️

We also hosted a Strangulation Awareness and Prevention Campagin for the month of May with and 💜 thank you for following along with us!

Our Women’s Program hosted a Community Kitchen this month, where families were able to cook up some vegetarian lasagna! 🥬🥕🥔

We also had our friends from and came to do a story time and an activity with kiddos and families on the PA Day this past Friday! 🧩📚

and ourselves went to GROWGirls+ this past week! We had a lot of fun connecting with youth and giving out awesome resources! 💄💅

We cannot WAIT for summertime!! ☀️🍦

Our May 4th “Understanding Strangulation: A Frontline Conversation” event brought together a strong group of frontline professionals for an engaging and impactful discussion. The turnout exceeded our expectations, and the conversations throughout the afternoon were thoughtful, honest, and deeply informative.

Feedback from attendees highlighted just how valuable this training was. Participants shared that the session was highly relevant, and many noted an increased confidence in working with partners such as the OPP and St. Joseph’s Health Care London’s Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Program. Attendees also reported feeling more comfortable asking clients about strangulation, better prepared to explain sexual assault evidence kits, and overall more equipped to support individuals experiencing strangulation.

For those who weren’t able to attend in person, we’re offering an alternative online version of this training as part of our Strangulation Awareness Campaign this May. This session will be hosted virtually with Annyse from St. Joseph’s Health Care London, ensuring broader access for those who may not be able to travel.
