Love isn’t just about the cuddles, the new welcomes, keeping folks areas clean for them, filling pools, getting treats, etc, sometimes it’s the hard stuff like giving injections when someone is sick, trimming hooves, and so on.
Sometimes it’s taking off your boots and socks, rolling up your pants, and going out into a mud wallow to give an injection of meds.
The look I got when they saw me knee deep in their wallow. I think Noam was like, oh I’ll just let him do it, if he’s going to all this trouble 😂 Yes, Noam! I love you this much!

One of the perks of living at a sanctuary, is getting to sit with the folks during dinner. Normally Angela, Noam and Oakley come outside for dinner, but Angela has had a bit of arthritic pain this week, and she has been getting some extra rest, and medication. And the three of them are very close, so they all decided they would have dinner in bed. And yes, Noam who is in the right of picture, he is eating while laying on his side🤷‍♂️. The perks of sanctuary life, do what you want😂😂

It’s the beginning of the month, and I was talking with Rosie about the wonderful people who support Dara each month.
She said we should have a cookie to celebrate these wonderful people! …..so we did❤️
We are so grateful to all those who belong to Patreon and support Dara, as well as those who faithfully send a donation at the beginning of each month. These selfless acts of love, make a huge difference in the lives of the folks. You are heros to us❤️. Between patreon and monthly donations, we receive about $1600! We are so grateful.
It costs about $1000 a week to provide everyone with healthy meals. And then there are meds, supplements, and veterinary care.
Life is alot for everyone, and we understand that. But if you are able to help, and would like to support the lives of the folks that call Dara home, we would be more than grateful.
When we all do something, the world becomes a better place, and the stress abit lighter.

Miss Chloe, another lady that has been here since the beginning. It’s funny how there are those times when you look at the folks or spend time with them, and my mind sees the moment we met. I remember Marco and I walking with her down the path way to the small barn at the original farm. Those early days were such fun getting to know each other, and stumble our way through each day…not much has changed in that sense, just more of us, and we are so proud to help carry their stories in our hearts, and share them with those we meet, and you who follow Dara’s story.
Chloe is such a beautiful friend, that we are proud to growing old together.
Hope you all had a great weekend, and a wonderful week ahead.

There are tough days, but sometimes you just need to stand back and see some of the goodness happening for some animals. Dara is so far from perfect, but the folks have their home, that they are safe, have each other, and meals will always be there, and they are so loved.
But as a world, we need to do better. If you believe in a cause, whatever that may be, support it financially or with your time. It takes so little, but you just might be changing the world in bigger ways than you will e we know❤️
