The Wheatley Swans

Our final meeting was held June 1 before we take a summer break.
A generous amount of craft supplies was collected by our members to add to the resources of the Boys and Girls Club of Chatham Kent. Creativity of the children who attend the Club is encouraged.

A walk for the Guide Dogs of Canada was held in Port Stanley raising $13000. Some of our Wheatley Swans joined the Kettle Creek Swans in support of this amazing event.

You have 2 summer months to think about getting involved.

Tonight June 1 is our last meeting before the summer break from meetings but we don’t stop serving.

2. Town wide Yard Sale June 20
3. Fish Fest weekend June 26-28
4. Hogs for Hospice in Wheatley Aug 1

And then it’s September again!

We meet the first Monday of every month 6:30 pm at the
Wheatley United Church. You’re welcome to visit and find out what we do then you decide if you’d like to become a Swan.

Beautiful smiles on the faces of Swans Judy, Pauline, Katie, Daria and Nancy as they graciously volunteered at The Meadows spaghetti dinner fundraiser.

Elvis and Karaoke Bob were in the house as the entertainment.

And in the kitchen, Judy learned how to cut a slab cake into equal size pieces.

The Wheatley Swans joined by some Lions, firefighters, police officers and FishFest committee members at the pancake breakfast.

Saturday morning, the Wheatley Firehall put on a wonderful Pancake breakfast as a fundraiser for the Wheatley Fish fest being held on June 27,28,29.
You can see in the lineup , the Wheatley Swans were in attendance supporting the firefighters and we’ll be there Fish Fest weekend enjoying the festivities, the events and selling Fish Fest t shirts. Visit our booth as we’ll share information about the local Swans club. We would love to have you join us.

Feather Ruffler Daria has kept our social calendar very active. We attended a fund raiser event for the Warlocks Lacrosse organization in Windsor which included a delicious dinner, entertainment and an abundance of raffle prizes. Swans and some of our guests were lucky winners of some great prizes but……….the Grand Prize of the evening was scored by our very own Swan Geri. Does she look happy? You betcha!
