Congratulations to North Shore Artists Guild member Erik Vaartnou for jurying into the North Van Arts’ Abstractions Exhibition which opens this week at Cityscape Community Artspace. The show runs from June 11 to August 1, with an opening reception June 18th 6:00-8:00. The painting is titled Quadrilaterals II, acrylic on irregular wood panel, 24x24.

Congratulations to North Shore Artists Guild member Erik Vaartnou for jurying into the Federation of Canadian artists "2026 On the Edge" Exhibition with two of his abstract paintings. The paintings are entitled "Integrated Division" and "Integrated Circle." The show runs from June 9th until June 28th. The opening reception is on June 12th from 6:00 to 7:30 at the Granville Island FCA gallery.

Congratulations to North Shore Artists Guild member Janna Kumi for jurying into the Federation of Canadian artists "2026 On the Edge" Exhibition. This image is entitled "The Survivor." This beautiful artwork is created with Colour pencil on paper floated on white background and framed in black wood. 24x18”
The image is one of a few ponderosa growing just outside of Lytton, BC. Found on a north facing slope which escaped the fire which destroyed the town in 2021. Hence the title. The show runs from June 9th until June 28th. The opening reception is on June 12th from 6:00 to 7:30 at the Granville Island FCA gallery.

A wonderful day was spent in conjunction with at their Wilderness at Your Doorstep open house at Lynn Headwaters Regional Park. The sun came out for our en Plein Air painters to maximize their creative talents. The beauty of the area was well rendered on canvas and the public learned about us. We will get some new members and new attendees at our shows. It was an enjoyable and productive day!
