TCCCA is looking to kick off the 7th Annual Thiyagi Thileepan Memorial Food Drive. The Food Drive will place from September 15 to September 26, 2025.

In dedication to Thiyagi Thileepan’s 15,918 minutes of fasting, we are uniting as a community to collect and distribute 15,918 lbs of food to local food banks in the Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa, and Montreal.

We invite the public and youth, social and community organizations in Toronto, York Region, Peel Region, Durham Region, Ottawa, and Montréal to take part in this meaningful initiative to honour Thiyagi Thileepan’s sacrifice while addressing food insecurity in Canada. You can either donate, or pledge to donate a larger amount of food during the duration of the food drive, whether you want to donate yourself or organize with your community to raise a larger quantity.

This coming Tuesday, Tamil Civic Action will be having a special presentation for our senior Community Hub.

We will be holding a Tamil seniors health literacy session, facilitated by Dr. Tami Vasanthakumaran!
