Lions Club Sydenham & District , Volunteers who work at helping, leading, planning and supporting. Because we're local, we can serve the unique needs of the community we live in !

THE SYDENHAM LIONS ARE AN ACTIVE BUNCH - FROM SEPTEMBER TO JUNE

Here is a little of what we do:

Raise funds so we can support a wide variety of local charities and needy causes. We do this by selling poinsettias at Christmas, raffle tickets in the spring for our 50/50 draw

in the past, We also hosted golf tournaments in June at the Rivendell Golf Course. Hoping to get this going again...

e a month we meet to clean, grade and package used eyeglasses for distribution free of charge to people in under-developed countries who need them. We assist the Canada Day Committee by helping with various activities during the day

We are always looking for new ideas and new ways of doing things to support our local community. Come on over and see if we are what you are looking for

Whether it is in winter or now in our warmer temps, this Lion enjoys her strolls out and about.
Huge Roar to our Lion Joanne Ankers, as she completed another 'walk about' yesterday for the Guide Dog Walkathon held in Kingston.
Was a most enjoyable day for the participants, and money raised..." helps the foundation to fullfill their mission to empower those with disabilities with confidence and independance by providing Dog Guides at no cost to them, and supporting each pair in their journey together "

This weekend, visit Sydenham One Stop, where the Lions will be selling tickets for the Canada Day draw. You can refuel, grab a treat, and also meet some of our Lions members. While tickets are limited, we still have some available, we don't want you to miss out! We are grateful for your continued support and would like to extend our thanks.

Just a brief note regarding the great news of allocation of funds raised from our fundraising events, we Lions hold ...??
We were able to make contributions to both of our local schools.
Pictured is Lion Suzanne Bashall presenting representatives from LPS & SHS with cheques to support their Good Food Security Programs.
*Alan MacDonald, Challenge North teacher, Loughborough Public School,
& *Ash Ward, Vice Principal, Sydenham High School, with
*Beja Mallen, Technological Education, Sydenham High School.
These extraordinary programs within each school benefit from every little bit of support, as no child should go hungry.
