PICS Society Serving the Community Since 1987 Our services assist new immigrants, seniors, farm workers, women and youth.

Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) Society is a registered non-profit providing a broad spectrum of programs and services which includes Employment Programs, Settlement Services, Language Services, Social Programs and Housing Services. We work diligently to provide responsive programs that address various issues within our community by promoting harmony and intercultural understanding for the purpose of building a more inclusive and mutually respectful society.

It was an honour to attend “The Heritage of Afghanistan: An Evening of Commemoration, Culture and Community” organized by the Consul General of Afghanistan in Vancouver, Mr. Ramin Manawi.

A beautiful evening celebrating Afghanistan’s rich heritage, culture, traditions, and community spirit. Grateful for the opportunity to connect, learn, and celebrate the diversity that strengthens our communities.

Shape the Future of Philanthropy – Join the PICS Charitable Foundation Board

The PICS Charitable Foundation (PCF) is seeking dynamic, well-connected and visionary leaders to join its Board of Directors.
PCF’s mission is to strengthen communities by supporting charitable initiatives, promoting racial, ethnic and gender equality, and advancing opportunities and well-being for diverse communities, including seniors, newcomers, women and youth. Through philanthropy, education, partnerships and community collaboration, PCF seeks to help build a more inclusive, equitable and resilient society.

We are particularly interested in leaders with experience in:
•Major Gifts & Endowments
•Corporate Partnerships & Sponsorships
•Capital Campaigns & Fundraising
•Philanthropy & Community Development
•Strong Business and Community Networks

As a Foundation Board member, you will help build meaningful partnerships, cultivate philanthropic support, champion fundraising initiatives and strengthen the Foundation’s long-term financial sustainability and charitable impact. Your leadership will help ensure that PCF can continue supporting initiatives that make a meaningful difference in the communities we serve.

Board members are expected to:
•Act honestly and in the best interests of the Foundation
•Exercise appropriate care, diligence and judgment
•Support the Foundation’s charitable purposes and governance responsibilities
•Comply with applicable laws, bylaws and conflict-of-interest requirements

PICS Society 2026 Annual General Meeting
On August 23, 2026, Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) Society held its 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM), bringing together members, Board directors, leadership, staff, volunteers, and community partners to reflect on another year of service, growth, and progress.
AGM Highlights
· President and CEO’s Report highlighting PICS’ continued commitment to supporting newcomers, seniors, women, youth, families, refugees, international students, and communities across BC.
· Program and Service Updates highlighting the breadth of PICS’ work across settlement and integration, employment, healthcare, trades, youth, housing, seniors’ services, and community programs, along with the many initiatives and services delivered throughout the year to support individuals, families, and communities.
· Guru Nanak Diversity Village (GNDV) Update providing an overview of the project’s progress toward completion, with operations anticipated to begin in early 2027. Optima Living has been selected as the operating partner for the first five years.
· Financial and Audit Update from MNP, highlighting PICS Society’s continued financial stability, responsible stewardship of resources, and progress throughout the fiscal year.
· Approval of MNP as PICS Society’s auditor for the 2026–2027 fiscal year.
