Today our team headed to No Frills to pick up our weekly Summerside Auto Parts's Project Backpack order from Ken and Emily!

This week, our 22 families are receiving their usual groceries AND all the essentials for Thanksgiving dinner: turkey, potatoes, carrots, gravy, stuffing and dessert!

A HUGE thank you to our title sponsor Summerside Auto Parts, and our additional program sponsors Prince Edward Island Government and Campbell Webster Foundation, and the whole team at No Frills for all their support and hard work packing up and prepping our orders every week!

The Project Backpack Program was originally offered by BGC Canada in 2015, and we’ve had the pleasure of serving Prince County families through this important program for over a decade.

A huge thank you to Jamie and Xavier for spending time with our members and helping us learn more about Orange Shirt Day and why it matters.

Our members enjoyed a story, meaningful conversations, and the chance to learn through drumming and singing. We wrapped up the visit with a Round Dance that had everyone coming together and joining in!

We’re so grateful for experiences like these that give our members the opportunity to learn, ask questions, celebrate culture, and build understanding.

Thank you Jamie and Xavier for sharing your time and talents with our BGC family! 🧡

🖤 Help us fill our Gala closet ✨

Our Grandparents Raising Grandchildren group has been invited to the LifeHouse Summerside Little Black Dress Gala - and we're making getting ready part of the fun! We're planning a Gala closet party, where everyone in the group can get together, try on outfits and find a look they love!

We're collecting gently worn:
👗Black dresses (size medium - 2XL)
👠 Dressy shoes (size 5-9)
👛 Jewellery, purses & accessories

Have something in your closet that deserves another night out? We'd love to give it another chance to shine! 🖤
