A space for connection, creativity and community is taking shape in downtown St. Marys.

The Community Commons at 14 Church Street North will transform a historic building into a welcoming hub where residents of all ages can gather, learn and access valuable programs and services.

Saturday, October 3 at the Pyramid Recreation Centre a Community Concert and Family Fun Event in support of the project, featuring children's performers Sonshine & Broccoli is taking place. Admission is by donation, with all proceeds supporting the Community Commons.

Building a more inclusive workforce starts with access to the right supports.

Ontario offers tools, training and employment services to help people with disabilities find meaningful work and thrive in the workplace.

Some of these supports include:
• Finding organizations that provide training and job opportunities for people with disabilities
• Connecting job seekers and entrepreneurs with employment services
• Learning about workplace accommodations and supports available

Employers can also find guidance on creating inclusive workplaces and hiring practices that support accessibility.

Everyone deserves access to outdoor spaces.

Municipalities and businesses must consult with the public when building or rebuilding outdoor public spaces, including:
• recreational trails
• beach routes
• outdoor public eating areas
• playgrounds and outdoor play spaces
• sidewalks and walkways
• parking lots

If you would like to take part in consultations, contact your local municipality: https://www.ontario.ca/page/find-your-municipal-services-office -1
