🌍 Who are Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)?

In Cameroon, almost 1.3 million people have been displaced within their own borders due to conflict. These internally displaced persons (IDPs) face enormous hardships, including limited access to food, healthcare, and education. Women and children suffer the most, as they are left especially vulnerable.

At Hope for Cameroon, we are dedicated to providing vital support to IDPs, particularly in education. Through our Hope Scholars Program and partnerships with institutions like the African Leadership University, we are helping young people like Dieudonne reclaim their dreams and chart a path toward a brighter future.

The crisis of displacement extends beyond Cameroon, impacting millions worldwide in places like Sudan and the DRC. Join us in standing with these communities as they rebuild and rise.

Since 2016, Cameroon’s Anglophone regions have been embroiled in a devastating conflict that has claimed thousands of lives, displaced over half a million people, and left hundreds of thousands of children without access to education. Yet, despite the severity of this crisis, it continues to go largely unnoticed by the international community.

The conflict has led to widespread atrocities—extrajudicial killings, sexual violence, and attacks on civilians—yet many remain unaware of the suffering endured by innocent civilians in Cameroon.

At Hope for Cameroon, we are committed to making a difference. Through focused efforts on education, women’s empowerment, and humanitarian relief, we are working tirelessly to support those impacted by the crisis. But we can’t do it alone.

Swipe through to learn more about the crisis, why it’s being overlooked, and how you can help make a difference. Together, we can raise awareness and stand in solidarity with the people of Cameroon. 🇨🇲

✨👧🏿 Empower Her. Educate Her. Elevate Her. 👧🏿✨

Today, on International Day of the Girl Child, we at Hope for Cameroon are raising our voices for the countless girls whose dreams are at risk. Girls in Cameroon face many challenges—from being denied education to the terrifying reality of sexual violence. This is especially true for displaced girls and refugees, with 1 in 4 in crisis-affected areas at risk of sexual abuse. 💔

But this is not just about numbers—this is about real lives, real futures. Every girl we support through our Hope Scholars Program is a testament to resilience. Since 2020, we’ve helped over 300 girls get back to school and reclaim their future through education, mentorship, and protection programs.

📢 You can help too! Stand with us today to say NO to violence and YES to education, empowerment, and equality. 🌍✨

👉 How can you help?

- Support our projects providing educational scholarships 🎓
- Advocate for girls’ rights using your voice 📢
- Donate to help us reach more girls in underserved communities 🤝

Together, we can create safe spaces for girls to grow and plant the seeds for a brighter future for every girl! 🌱💪
