🏢 What If You Brought Toastmasters Into Your Workplace?
You don’t have to own the company.
You don’t have to be in HR.
And you certainly don’t have to be the CEO.
Sometimes, great ideas start with one employee willing to bring them forward.
A corporate Toastmasters club gives employees a place to practise the skills businesses need every single day communication, leadership, presentations, collaboration, confidence and the ability to think and speak on the spot.
Think about what that can look like inside a company:
🎤 Better presentations.Employees become more comfortable presenting ideas, projects, results and recommendations instead of reading from slides or avoiding the opportunity altogether.
💬 Stronger communication. People learn how to organize their thoughts, communicate more clearly, listen actively and give constructive feedback, skills that can carry directly into meetings, emails, client conversations and difficult discussions.
👥 Stronger managers and emerging leaders. Leadership potential doesn’t always show up on a résumé. Give people opportunities to facilitate meetings, lead teams, evaluate others and speak in front of a group, and you may discover capabilities that were sitting quietly inside your organization.
More voices at the table. How many employees have valuable ideas but rarely speak during meetings? A Toastmasters club provides a structured environment where people can practise contributing instead of staying silent.
🤝 Better connection across departments. A workplace club can bring together people who might rarely interact, operations, finance, HR, sales, administration, management and frontline employees. That creates relationships beyond titles and departments.
🌎 Support for employees communicating in a second language. For organizations with multilingual teams, regular speaking practice can help employees become more comfortable communicating professionally in English or French.
📱 Skills that extend into today's workplace.*Communication now includes virtual meetings, video presentations, webinars, interviews, social media, sales pitches and online networking. Being comfortable on camera and communicating concisely has become a business skill.
And here's the part I really want people to understand:
You can be the person who starts the conversation.
If you think this could benefit your workplace, bring the idea to HR. Talk to your manager. Mention it to your CEO or leadership team.
