Rossland residents are organizing to prevent an open-pit mine from being built on Record Ridge. Joe Hill Coffeehouse returns to the Rossland Miners Hall in ONE WEEK!

The first show in the season features artists who contributed to the Save Record Ridge Mixtape. This will be a night you won't want to miss!

*The Rossland Council for Arts and Culture is in full support of the Save Record Ridge Action Society's efforts.

The show is at 7:00 PM on Sunday, October 18th in the Performance Hall at the Rossland Miners Hall.

Tickets can be purchased at the door on the night of the show. Baking and concessions will be sold at the show by the Rossland Gold Fever Follies.

We have something very meaningful to share from last Wednesday’s Truth and Reconciliation gathering hosted by the Sinixt Confederacy in Nelson.

It began with a ceremony at the Sinixt Confederacy’s office downtown before moving to a larger event location. Near the end of the evening, in front of over 150 people, the Sinixt Chief and Council opened an awards ceremony by announcing SRRAC as the first organization being recognized for its work to protect Record Ridge.

We were completely taken by surprise.

They spoke about SRRAC’s tireless work to protect Record Ridge and recognized the years of organizing, research, advocacy, and court work behind that effort. They also said our work had shown that protecting the land can bring people together.

Their words ended simply: “Thank you for standing with Sinixt.”

It was an emotional moment, filled with gratitude, honour, love, and connection.

SRRAC respects all Indigenous peoples connected to Record Ridge and has worked particularly closely with Sinixt people through this effort. Protecting Record Ridge and our communities is why SRRAC exists, and knowing that our work has also allowed us to stand alongside the Sinixt gives that work an added meaning.

We are deeply grateful for this recognition and will carry it with us for a long time. We will also continue to learn from them and support their efforts. 🧡✨️

Crunch time for Record Ridge. We’re still raising funds for our Court of Appeal case and the fight against the remaining permits, and we need our community behind us 🙌
