Rossland Youth Action Network

Rossland Youth Action Network Our Goal? To support fun, safe, programming, activities and events that are relevant to the interests of youth in Rossland. We believe that:
1.

Youth are important community stakeholders and supporting youth needs to be a community priority.
2. Our diverse community can contribute to the development of excellent youth programming 3. It is critical to support avenues for meaningful youth engagement, including active participation in community decision making.
4. Youth have the right to be accorded dignity and respect, and to be free from p

hysical
and emotional harassment or discrimination based on age, s*x, wealth, ability, peer
group, s*xual orientation or beliefs.
5. Youth have the right to sense the value they hold to their community and the
responsibility to act as citizens of that community.
6. Celebrating the achievements,positive contributions, and unique abilities of young
people will benefit the entire community.
7. The community gains from the contributions that youth bring to organizations,
activities, and their relationship.
8. Building partnerships and coordinating services will benefit youth.
9. Building cohesion between local youth who attend school in different places is a key tenet of community sustainability.
