Hospice Huronia Serving the residents of North Simcoe, our objective is to care for the emotional and spiritual need

Hospice Huronia was established in response to a need identified by the Palliative Care Coordinator at Penetanguishene General Hospital. A community steering committee created Hospice Huronia in 1993 with a few dedicated volunteers and the organization became incorporated in 1994. Our purpose is to provide comfort and support to individuals suffering a terminal illness and to allow them to die wit

h dignity surrounded by their families and friends. Our client base has grown from a handful of families in 1994 to providing service to approximately 140 families and individuals annually. We currently have over 70 active volunteers who provide thousands of hours of volunteer visiting. Our volunteers also provide administrative support and help at fund raising events.

If you went on the Georgian Bay Garden Tour, were a gardener, an artisan, a volunteer or are part of the Georgian Bay Garden Tour Committee this year, THANK YOU! You were part of a great event and look at the amazing results! $10,000 each for Hospice Huronia and for Wye Marsh. It was a wonderful day for the tour and the gardens were A1! Can't wait for next year :)

We are so pleased that Angela Schmidt Foster, after over 30 years, has gotten her 1st Olympic participation medal replaced (the original had been stolen). Her friend Jenn organized a fundraiser to raise the money to purchase it on e-bay, with the excess funds raised going to support Hospice care in the community. They had a great fundraising musical event last week and raised enough for the medal and $415 extra! Thank you!
