BCN Prevention is incredibly grateful to have been selected as a recipient through the Criminal Property Forfeiture Fund, receiving a HUGE donation of Softball, Fastball & Tee-Ball equipment!

This generous contribution will help us provide more recreational opportunities for our children, youth, families, and community members and support the continued growth of sports and active programming in Bunibonibee Cree Nation.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the BCN RCMP Detachment and Sergeant R.C. Farebrother for all of their hard work, dedication, and continued involvement within our community.

BCN Prevention Services will be collaborating with the NADAP Team and Louis Young this evening for their AA & NA session at 6:00 p.m. taking place at the Band Office.

We welcome and encourage community members who are on their healing journey to come out, participate, and support one another in a safe, confidential, and respectful space.

🌭 Please note:
A BBQ will be provided, but only for those who attend and take part in the AA/NA session.
This is to honour and support the individuals who show up for the program and engage in the healing work.

BCN Prevention Services is excited to support our youth in attending the KTC Northern Youth Summit 2026, taking place August 17–21, 2026 at the beautiful Wilderness Edge Retreat & Conference Centre in Pinawa, Manitoba.

This week‑long gathering will bring together 110 youth β€” 10 from each of the 11 KTC member First Nations β€” for an unforgettable experience focused on leadership, culture, wellness, and community connection.

Throughout the summit, youth will participate in workshops and activities including:

πŸͺΆ Indigenous Culture & Language Revitalization
🌲 Land-Based Learning
🧠 Mental Health & Wellness

πŸ“’ Online registration is now closed. No applications will be accepted after the deadline.

Open to youth from our 11 communities, ages 12-17 with parental consent. Three chaperones will be needed from each community as well. Share this with someone who may be interested in attending.

COMMUNITY PANTRY INTAKE
Emergency Assistance Only
The Community Pantry provides short-term emergency support for individuals and families in urgent need.

ELIGIBILITY
β€’ Low-income households
β€’ Receiving Social Assistance (or experiencing financial hardship)
β€’ Not receiving Child Tax Benefit (or currently delayed/interrupted)
β€’ Any other financial hardship with valid reason

EMERGENCY SITUATIONS MAY INCLUDE:
β€’ Bank account locked or funds inaccessible
β€’ Unexpected expenses (bills, repairs, medical costs)
β€’ Loss of income or delayed payments
β€’ Housing instability (eviction, recent move)
β€’ Family crisis (separation, caregiving challenges)
β€’ Awaiting income support approval
β€’ Fire, flood, or home emergency
β€’ New parents/guardians in urgent need
β€’ Individuals leaving unsafe situations

GUIDELINES
β€’ Intake form must be completed
β€’ One hamper per household (if applicable)
β€’ Priority may be given to families, Elders, and urgent cases

Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Valid Criminal Record Check required
Previous security experience is an asset
Reliable and available to work on call when needed
Willing to assist with light janitorial duties when required

Saturdays & Sundays
