Small Economy Works

On National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honor survivors, their families, and the children who never returned home. 🧡

At Small Economy Works, we put TRC Call to Action #92 into daily practice by grounding our operations in Indigenous-first procurement, shared governance, and continuous learning.

Reconciliation is an everyday commitment—one we prioritize while having the privilege to work, live, and learn across the Territories, Provinces, and Indigenous communities we serve.

TRC Calls to Action #7 & #10 call on us to eliminate educational and employment gaps through culturally appropriate skills programs.

At Small Economy Works, we put this into practice by equipping Northern & Indigenous youth with micro-grants, flexible business tools, and community-led learning with Curriculum co-written by community based educators and leaders.

Closing gaps starts with opening doors on community terms. 🧡

At Small Economy Works, Truth and Reconciliation isn’t once a year, it’s built into every corner of our organization.

Starting with TRC Call to Action #63, it is built into how we teach, learn and grow together. Today we are highlighting our core programming.

🌿 Youth Leadership: Equipping youth in Northern and rural communities with tools and micro-grants to launch local micro-ventures.
🌿 Language & Culture: Integrating Indigenous languages into program delivery and hiring local Indigenous artists, curriculum writers, and translators.
🌿 Community-Led Design: Ensuring curriculum is co-created with local elders, community members, and participants.

Education must build capacity, empathy, and economic opportunity on youth’s own terms.
