Are you ready to build practical skills for your career, business, and community? Join Inspire this fall! This is a paid 12-week leadership and entrepreneurship program designed to help you succeed.

This paid, 12-week online leadership and entrepreneurship program is designed specifically for young women, girls, Two-Spirit, trans, and non-binary youth in Nunavik. Whether you’re looking to land a new job, launch a business idea, or step up as a leader in your community, the Inspire program is here to help you make it happen.

🤝 What makes Inspire special?
Hands-on learning: Dive into financial literacy, project planning, and digital skills using local stories and real-world experiences

Complete support: Receive mentorship, peer support, a Certificate of Completion, and up to $4,200 in training allowances.

Accessible: We provide laptops and internet access if needed so you can learn comfortably from home!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Small Economy Works’ Managing Director, Jasmine Redfern, who is taking the stage this week at the Indigenous AI Gathering in Montreal!

Jasmine will be a featured panelist on “Arctic Intelligence: Navigating Northern Challenges and Opportunities with AI,” sharing insights on the important relationship between AI and the North.

From advocating for local northern economies to ensuring emerging technologies serve remote communities ethically, her voice is shaping a future where technology honors Indigenous worldviews and northern realities.

Welcome to the team, Jasmine! 🎉

We’re thrilled to announce that Jasmine Redfern has joined Small Economy Works as our new Managing Director.

Jasmine is an Inuk lawyer, facilitator, and governance leader from Nunavut, whose work sits at the intersection of Indigenous rights, public policy, community development, and systems change, with deep grounding in Arctic, Northern, and Inuit contexts.

She brings two decades of experience working alongside Inuit, Indigenous, Northern, and equity-seeking communities across law, social policy, human rights, justice, youth programming, and organizational leadership. Known for her cross-sectoral lens, Jasmine has a gift for connecting community priorities, governance, policy, and real-world implementation.

She joins us at an exciting moment, as new opportunities open up for SEW to deepen our relationships with communities and grow our impact. In this next chapter, Jasmine will focus on partnerships, strategy, and internal systems, keeping us firmly aligned with our Northern and Indigenous foundations.

What excites her most? How entrepreneurship, governance, storytelling, and emerging technologies can support resilient, community-led futures across the Arctic and beyond.

The timing couldn’t have been better to have Noah Wilson, Senior Business Development Manager from Futurpreneur be part of Inspire Manitoba!

Over the last couple of weeks we’ve been talking about Inspire’s Business Model Canvas, a tool participants can use to start planning and building out the idea they have for their business, program, project, or service they want to create. These conversations have helped participants think about who their target market will be, the internal infrastructure they need to ensure their idea is operational and sustainable over time, how they’ll pitch it to a wider audience and more!

Noah shared and walked through Futurpreneur’s Business Validation Map that provided participants with another resource they can use to help frame their idea more concretely and design a pitch that will catch their audience’s attention.

He also encouraged participants to register for Futurpreneur’s 3-Part “Rock My Business” as a way for them to continue their learning as they work to “transform [their] dream into a thriving business” and left them with this, “entrepreneurship is our way to self-determination”

A look back at Graduation Week for the Spring 2026 cohort of 🎓✨🙌🏽 the week served as a meaningful and heartfelt conclusion to the program, bringing together celebration, reflection, and closure.

Our final week was centered around participants sharing and honouring their work through their Business Model Canvas (BMC) presentations on Tuesday. Each participant brought forward thoughtful, diverse, and creative ideas, with some expressing strong interest in continuing to develop their concepts beyond the program, while others reflected on how valuable the experience was for their learning and personal growth.

Following the presentations, the group came together for graduation, a proud and emotional moment that recognized each participant’s effort, growth, and accomplishments throughout the program. A particular highlight was celebrating a participant who applied to college during the program and received an acceptance, marking a significant milestone worth celebrating collectively. 👏🏽

The week closed with a closing circle that created a sacred and gentle space for reflection and connection. Participants shared meaningful feedback, expressing deep appreciation for the program. Many spoke about feeling safe, supported, and genuinely cared for, and shared that the experience helped build their confidence and belief in themselves.

Our final week wasn’t just a conclusion; it was a powerful affirmation of community, pride, and the bright futures ahead for these leaders.

That’s a Wrap! Celebrating the Trailblazers! 🎓✨ This week, we are beaming with pride as we celebrate the graduates of Inspire Labrador’s first-ever virtual cohort! 👏

From the initial spark of an idea to today’s success, these graduates have redefined what’s possible. By blending motivational entrepreneurship with traditional land-based techniques, they’ve proven that remote reach throughout the province is a bridge to innovation.

Watching this group navigate their journey has been nothing short of inspiring. Their resilience and vision are exactly what the future of Labrador needs.
