These rides are all about kids, families, community, and having fun together. 🤩👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

What makes streets safer for children? It takes political will, city budgets that prioritize safety, a culture that believes every life matters, and street designs that prevent road deaths and serious injuries. That’s what is all about. ❤️🚸

Tomorrow is the big day - join us for the Pineview Kidical Mass Bike Ride - everyone is welcome!
Although the ride starts at 10am, we'll be at the park from 9:30am onwards with bike decorating supplies like balloons, ribbons, and more! thebikeguy will also be on hand helping with basic bike tune-ups and safety checks.
Join us in Pineview for a joy-filled bike ride with a purpose: safe streets for kids!

Kidical Mass Ottawa Pineview Ride - just 2 days to go 🎉
Wondering If you can make it there by bike from another part of the city?
Pineview neighbourhood is bounded by the queensway, 417, Cyrville, Innes and Blair.
From the west, the separated bike lane along Cyrville is one option OR take a multi-modal trip -> get off the LRT with your bike(s) at Blair station and take the red pedestrian bridge over the highway.

Check out the colour-coded Cycling Guide App (link in our bio) to help figure out the lowest stress route from wherever you live. It’s a great resource for route planning and figuring out how to navigate missing links in the bike network.

Join us for another for a family-friendly bike ride this time through the Pineview neighbourhood on July 11 at 10 a.m. (meeting at Meadowbrook Park).

Want a fun multi-modal adventure?
Bring bikes on the LRT, get off at Blair station and walk your bike across the cool red bridge to Pineview!

We’ll ride together at a relaxed pace on neighbourhood streets, creating a safe and welcoming environment for children and families to enjoy cycling and connect with the community.

For those who wish, Dave the Bike Guy will be on site offering free basic bike tune-ups and safety checks to help get everyone ready to roll.

Helmets are strongly recommended for all riders. Everyone participates at their own risk, and children must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

✅ The good: safer, calmer streets for kids
⚠️ Needs improvement: must scale up quickly from a 3‑school pilot
🚨 Really needs improvement: process + cost barriers shouldn’t fall on communities. Equitable access to road safety for children is crucial.
