You've probably seen their work without knowing it. But at BCHF, we know Kindred & Scout for more than what they create.

Kindred & Scout is the Vancouver creative production studio behind campaigns for Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, Travel Alberta and more, telling stories rooted in authenticity, craft and connection. Through Kindred Donates, they donate 5% of the end production fee from their projects to a charitable organization chosen by their clients, making giving part of their everyday work.

We're grateful that BC Hospitality Foundation is one of the organizations they've chosen to support, and proud to recognize Kindred & Scout as a valued donor sponsor.

Thank you for being part of our community, Kindred and Scout 🧡❤️

Our thoughts are with the residents, businesses, and hospitality and tourism workers in Summerland and the surrounding communities who continue to be impacted by the wildfires.

We know that many members of our hospitality family are facing displacement, uncertainty, and significant disruption. For those who were already navigating a medical condition or health crisis, the added pressure of evacuation and being away from home can make an already difficult situation even harder.

The BC Hospitality Foundation is here to help where we can.

BCHF provides emergency financial assistance to eligible hospitality and tourism workers in British Columbia who are experiencing financial hardship due to a medical condition, injury, disability, or rehabilitation.

While our funding cannot cover lost wages or financial hardship resulting solely from wildfire-related evacuations or business closures, hospitality and tourism workers who are also facing an eligible medical crisis may qualify for assistance.

BCHF assistance is available to eligible BC hospitality and tourism workers with at least two years of industry employment and whose primary source of income comes from the sector. Our support is intended for those facing an urgent, specific financial need arising from a medical condition.

We also understand that evacuation and displacement can make it especially difficult to access documents, benefits, insurance, and other resources right now. Please don’t let that stop you from reaching out. Our team can help you understand the application process, what may be required, and whether support may be available.

If you or someone you know in Summerland’s hospitality and tourism community is facing a medical crisis during this incredibly difficult time, please connect with us.

And if you're looking for other ways to support the community, tap our Stories for six ways to help today. Choose Summerland. Choose local. Keep showing up.

Ask us how we got so many amazing people in the same room?

The answer is simple: celebrate 20 years of you supporting hospitality and tourism workers across BC.

Sounds easy? In reality, it takes a village, or might be an entire province in our case, to pull off such a remarkable event. Together, we raised $125,000 for BC Hospitality Foundation's beneficiary assistance program to continue supporting more individuals and families.

If we tried to thank everyone who contributed to making this happen, we'd need to start a new website as we'd far outpace any character limits of social media. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsors, donors, volunteers, partners and guests, the evening became the most successful fundraising event in BCHF's 20-year history.

And a special shoutout to our guest who really, really likes cheese. You know who you are. Consider this your standing invite to every future BCHF event.

Know a chef, culinary student or hospitality professional who should be part of Yes Shef this year? Deadline to join is only a week away!

Created by our community partner, WORTH Association, Yes Shef is an annual celebration of women shaping the future of the food and beverage industry and applications to participate close on August 9.

At BCHF, we love supporting WORTH’s work and many ways they strengthen our industry, including our partnership through the WORTH Beneficiary Fund, which provides financial support to single mothers in BC’s hospitality and tourism industry facing hardship after an accident or injury.

If you caught yourself thinking, “I need to forward this to…” while reading this, follow that instinct 😉
