Thorold Man Arrested in Hate Related Incident
By Niagara Regional Police Service

On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) uniform officers responded to a school in the City of Thorold in response to a disturbance.

Investigating officers learned that a male attended the school and purposefully caused damage to a pride flag displayed outside of the school.

As a result of the investigation, 42-year-old Chandler ROBINSON of Thorold was arrested on Wednesday June 17, 2026 and charged with the following criminal offence:

The Niagara Regional Police Service Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Unit has been engaged and continues to assist with the investigation into this incident. Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the Niagara Regional Police Service at (905) 688-4111, option 3, extension 1009757.

Members of the community who wish to provide information anonymously can contact Crime Stoppers of Niagara online or by calling 1-800-222-8477(TIPS). Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards to people who contact the program with information which leads to an arrest.
