In his 40-year astrological consulting practice, one of the most common questions Brian has received is on vocation – clients’ concerns about money, creativity, work, lifestyle, and career satisfaction. In this talk, Brian will walk us through the way he learned to feel comfortable approaching this question.

He will explore vocational images in the horoscope, first by amplifying the houses of substance (2, 6, and 10), then by examining the planets in these houses and their rulers. He will address other important indicators of vocation, such as the Sun and Moon, the angles of the horoscope, and the nodal axis. Through his methods, we will learn what vocation is and how we can best participate in our calling.

Brian Clark has been an astrological student, counsellor and educator (www.astrosynthesis.com.au) for over 50 years. His astrological work has always been informed by the ambiguous, yet multi-layered nature of its symbols, a focus of one of his books, Soul, Symbol and Imagination. Over the years, Brian has taught at international workshops and retreats in Australia, Asia, North America and Europe. He continues his consulting and tutoring practice, as well as teaching astrology and writing for astrological and psychological journals. Brian has his MA in Classics and Archaeology from the University of Melbourne and has been honoured with lifetime memberships from state, national and professional astrological organisations in Australia.

Yes, astrology can predict a death (!), but certainly not always. We all die many times in multifarious ways before departing our physical bodies! How does potential physical death present in a horoscope? What sorts of transit signatures are required? How much progressed and transit “weight” is necessary to signal a final or expected passage? Does manner of death present? How do traditional indications empirically compare with real cases? Are traditional gender-based death indicators really different? What does the innate strength of the “vital force” have to do with length of life? What are the traditional aphetic (life giving) and anaretic (life reducing) planets? Can the official life sustaining “Hyleg” really be determined by traditional rules?

✨ABOUT JUDITH✨

Judith Hill is an award-winning author of thirteen books including the classics: Medical Astrology: A Guide to Planetary Pathology; The Astrological Body Types; and Vocational Astrology (winner of an A.F.A., Inc. “Best Book Award”, 1999.) She produced The Renaissance Medicine Conference and created the online course Medical Astrology 101. She founded The Academy for Astrological Medicine in 2021. Hill was possibly the first to introduce Western Medical Astrology to Szechuan, China. She is a Chartered Herbalist with Dominion Herbal College, and a faculty member for The Matthew Wood Institute of Herbalism and Kepler College. Hill documented the natal and transit health influences of the Lunar Nodes, and the medical impact of eclipses by sign and conjunct natal planets. She created the first nodal polarity conscious eclipse calendar. She has recently published Medical Astrology for Health Practitioners and Medical Astrology in Action: The Transits of Health.
