Screens, Boundaries and Balance: A Workshop for Families

Does screen time feel challenging or hard to navigate in your home?

You are not alone.

For many autistic and neurodivergent children and youth, technology is a meaningful source of comfort, connection, and calm. At the same time, it can also get in the way of sleep, school, and everyday life, leaving caregivers unsure of how to best support their child at home.

Tip: This virtual workshop is based on the popular Autism Ontario Signature Series webinar: Setting Healthy Screen Time Boundaries for Neurodivergent Kids & Teens. Caregivers are encouraged to watch the webinar before attending this workshop.

To watch the webinar on demand, visit: https://www.autismontario.com/civicrm/event/info?id=12243

Participants will learn:

How to use technology as a tool.
Strategies to support balanced screen habits that align with your family values.
How to establish clear and consistent screen use guidelines by creating a family screen use plan.
Who is this for?

This workshop is appropriate for parents and caregivers of autistic children aged 6-12, as well as for educators and other professionals working with this population.

Hamilton - Wild Waterworks

Families are invited to come out and enjoy Wild Waterworks Waterpark in Hamilton on July 21! Wild Waterworks is home to one of Canada's largest outdoor wave pools. Ride the four tube slides: Night Rider, Blue Demon, Vertigo and Sidewinder. Prefer a more relaxing day? Spend some time floating along the Eazy River. Toddlers and small children will have a great time at Little Sq**rt Works, a fun wading pool with slides, mists and fountains.
