Nemo is a 13-year-old apricot poodle with a gentle soul, a love of snacks and a quiet hope for a place to settle in forever. This sweet senior was surrendered when his owner had to move, and despite the sudden upheaval in his life, he’s been steadily becoming more comfortable in his foster home and showing just how loving and loyal he truly is.

Nemo loves nothing more than to be near you — whether you’re puttering around the house or enjoying some fresh air outside. He loves exploring the yard, happily “supervising” his surroundings, and gets excited the moment he sees his harness and leash. For a senior, he’s surprisingly active and always up for tagging along.

He’s house trained, non-destructive when left alone, and does well without a crate. Nemo also adores people and other dogs, though he may be a little shy at first. Offer him a treat, and you’ll quickly win him over. Car rides can still make him a bit nervous, but he’s learning that they can lead to good things. With patience, consistency, and a calm home, Nemo continues to blossom.

Potential adopters will need to note that Nemo has a Stage 5 heart murmur, but that it is not currently affecting his day-to-day life or requiring medication. In fact, he even went through a complete dental recently under general anaesthetic with no issues! His future family will need to be aware of this condition, however and are urged to discuss with their vet.

What Nemo needs most now is someone with a big heart — someone who sees the beauty in giving a senior dog comfort, stability and love in his golden years. In return, he’ll offer quiet
companionship, gentle affection and unwavering loyalty. If you believe every dog deserves a soft place to land, Nemo is waiting for you.

Flutter is a sweet, affectionate and highly energetic little girl with a gentle nature and a playful spirit.

She thrives when she has plenty of opportunities to play, explore and stay active throughout the day. While she can be a bit shy when meeting new people or exploring new environments, Flutter gains confidence quickly — especially when she has another dog by her side. She is noticeably more comfortable and settled in the presence of a canine companion, and for this reason, she would do best in a home with another friendly, playful dog who can help boost her confidence and provide an outlet for her boundless energy.

Once she feels safe, Flutter becomes incredibly cuddly and loves nothing more than being close to her people — especially snuggling up together in bed. She’ll even gently nudge you with her paw when she wants attention, her own adorable way of asking for pets.

Flutter enjoys walks and is very well-behaved on leash. She’s also wonderfully calm and relaxed on car rides, making her an easy companion for outings. In her foster home, her curiosity sometimes gets the best of her, leading to the occasional misplaced chew on items like clothing or cords. She’ll benefit from supervision, structure and appropriate toys to help redirect this behavior.

Flutter is also quite the little jumper and can reach counters and tables, so keeping tempting items out of reach will help set her up for success.

Flutter is a smart and eager learner who already knows “sit” and “paw.” She is still working on house training — making great progress with peeing outside and continuing to build consistency with pooping outdoors. With a patient and committed family, she is sure to keep improving.
