Bed #113 just found its home.
You know that feeling when you sink into your mattress after a brutal day, pull up the blankets, and just... exhale? That’s exactly what Bed #113 brought to a family in our community this week.
But tonight, while most of us are tossing our pillows into the perfect spot, 70 people in our neighborhood will be sleeping on the floor, a cramped couch, or bundled up in blankets on a pile of clothes.
These aren't just statistics. They are kids who will go to school tomorrow with a sore back. They are parents trying to stay strong on zero rest. They asked for help, and their names are waiting in our queue.
We’ve built 107 safe places to sleep. We’re incredibly proud of that—but we can't sleep on the job yet.
How you can help us change tonight for someone:
🔨 Volunteer: Honestly, these beds don’t build themselves (we tried asking nicely, didn't work). Come out to a build day! You don’t need to be a master carpenter. If you can hold a hammer or copy what the person next to you is doing, you're qualified. It’s hard work, great company, and you get to see a number on a spreadsheet turn into a real kid getting a real bed.
💛 Donate: Think about what you spend on a takeout dinner or a couple of coffee runs. Every single dollar buys lumber. Every plank gets us closer to zero. If you're too busy to build, your donation can do the heavy lifting while you sleep.
🛏️ Request: Look around. Is there a coworker, a neighbor, or a family at your local school who is struggling? Don't assume someone else has already stepped in. Your recommendation could be the reason a child gets off the floor this month.
70 beds to go. Let’s get to work.
