U13BB Team Takes Silver at Orillia Hawks Early Bird Rep Tournament

What a great way to start the season for our U13BB team!

The girls put together a strong weekend at the Orillia Hawks Early Bird Rep Tournament, finishing the round robin with two wins, one loss and one tie while competing hard in every game. From start to finish, the team showed they could skate with every opponent they faced and were never outmatched.

Their round-robin results included a 1–0 win over Orillia, a 2–1 win over Ancaster, a 2–2 tie with St. Catharines and a 3–0 loss to Chatham Kent.

That set up a semifinal rematch with Chatham Kent, and the Capitals responded with one of their strongest efforts of the weekend. The girls battled hard at both ends of the ice, received excellent goaltending when they needed it, and came away with a 2–1 victory to earn a spot in the championship final.

In the final, the Capitals faced the Whitby Wolves and capped off an impressive opening weekend with a well-deserved silver medal.

For their first weekend together, the U13BB group showed great competitiveness, teamwork and resilience throughout the tournament. It was an excellent way to kick off the season and an encouraging glimpse of what may be ahead for this group.

Congratulations to our U13BB players, coaches, bench staff and families on a fantastic opening weekend and a well-earned silver medal!
