UPCOMING PLAYER DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS

Player development will be an increased focus for NSGHA this season, with additional opportunities being introduced to give players more time on the ice and continue building their skills.

Our first development sessions have now been scheduled and are open to players on the participating teams who would like some optional extra ice time and focused skill development.

Upcoming sessions include:
- September 12 – U15 House & U18 House
- September 13 – U13BB & U15 Rep
- September 27 – U11A & U11 House
- September 27 – U9 Rep & U9 House

Sessions will be led by experienced coaches, with additional development opportunities expected throughout the season.

Interested in goalie development?
We are also exploring dedicated goalie development sessions for current goalies and players interested in trying the position.

FOOD TRUCKS WANTED FOR CAPITALS DAY!

The North Simcoe Girls Hockey Association is looking for local food trucks to join us for Capitals Day on Saturday, October 24 at the Bourgeois Centre in Midland.

Capitals Day brings together our players, families and community for a full day of hockey, and we would love to have some great local food vendors be part of the experience.

MMHA and NSGHA are teaming up for a joint Equipment Swap this coming weekend at the Bourgeois Community Centre.

- 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Bourgeois Community Centre
- Open to all ages

Bring equipment in, drop it off, and take what you need. It’s a great way to reuse gear, help another hockey family, and get ready for the season ahead.

The Simcoe Muskoka Girls Hockey League is looking for a League Scheduler!

The North Simcoe Capitals are pleased to share this opportunity on behalf of the Simcoe Muskoka Girls Hockey League.

As the local league continues to grow, the SMGHL is seeking a reliable and organized individual to coordinate game scheduling and ice time throughout the season.

This paid contract position will support more than 50 teams across five participating organizations, from U7 through U18, during the August to April hockey season.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with representatives from each participating centre. Previous scheduling or hockey administration experience would be an asset.

🏒 TRY HOCKEY FOR THE FIRST TIME! 🏒

The Bauer First Shift program is coming to North Simcoe in January 2027, offering girls ages 6–10 a fun, welcoming and affordable introduction to hockey.

For $299, participants receive:

🔹 A full set of hockey equipment to keep
🔹 Six on-ice sessions with professional instruction
🔹 A safe and supportive environment
🔹 The chance to learn the game and make new friends

No previous hockey experience is needed. This program is designed specifically for first-time players.

The Welcome Event is scheduled for January 13, 2027.

Invitation for all players to join in Canada Day Parade. North Simcoe Capitals invite all players to come walk in the Midland Canada Day Parade!

WHO: All players and coaches!
WHAT: Wear your Capitals Gear and let the town know who we are!
WHERE: Meet at the Midland Town Docks along Bayshore Drive to get jerseys and proceed to the parade line up! Parade will finish at the end of Little Lake on Young St.
WHEN: Wednesday July 1st, meet at 9:45am, parade starts at 10:30am!
WHY: Let’s spread the Capitals Cheer and Celebrate our great country and sport!
