Auditions are now open for NSCC's Got Talent!

🎤This year, we have partnered with Student Associations to offer in person audition opportunities, as well as keep the option to submit a video audition online. For more information on your campus in person auditions, be sure to follow your Student Association!

Are you interested in being a part of a dedicated team that brings events, activities, services, and a great college experience to students? If so, consider running for one of the available positions on the Student Association Executive Committee!

This year, you can submit your nomination form online via the Student Association web site! The Nomination Kit, along with full job descriptions and the positions available by campus are now available and can be found on the Student Association web site. Click HERE to view everything you’ll need to know to run in the elections! The deadline to submit your completed Nomination Kit is February 21st, 2025, at noon.

If you have any questions about the information, available positions, or about Student Life at your campus, please reach out to your Student Association President or contact Student Life at [email protected]. Also be sure to watch your email and follow Student Life on social media for announcements designed to give you some insight about being a part of the Student Association Executive, what you will be able to accomplish, and why you should run. There will be information about life as an Executive, specific role requirements and responsibilities, how much time they dedicate to the work, and more that you may be curious about!

Students of AVC Middleton – Happy Spooky Season! Halloween is approaching quickly, and we have two exciting events to present.

Spooktacular Door Contest – Each Class has until October 31, 2024, at 8:00 AM to decorate their classroom door for Halloween! It is up to each class how they wish to decorate their door, may the most spooktacular win! The winning class will be decided on Halloween, and they will win a box of candy to celebrate being the spookiest class on campus!

Town of Middleton Witches Walk & Haunted House – NSCC AVC SA is happy to announce its partnership with the Town of Middleton and the Macdonald Museum on this year’s Haunted House and first-ever Witches Walk!

Double, double toil and trouble, fire burn & cauldron bubble.
Bewitching time is nearly here, it is our favourite time of year.
So polish your broomsticks, mend your cape and walk with us as we celebrate.
Practice your spells, brush the cat and top it all off with a witches hat!

Join us on Saturday, October 26th for the first Middleton "Witches Walk".

Follow along and learn about wellness and the supports available to you!

Welcome to the Active Living Program!

The goal of the Active Living Program is to encourage, support, and motivate Nova Scotia Community College students, staff, and faculty to embrace more holistically healthy lifestyle.

We will work to align the program closely with the college’s Mental Wellness Strategy and consider the Eight Dimensions of Wellness, which include physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual, environmental, financial, occupational, and social aspects. It has been established that taking the whole person into account addresses a larger number of opportunities to help and support the community.

Each we'll provide guidance, resources, information and more for you to explore this idea. And of course, interactions with our community can help others discover and learn too, so we hope to get some good conversations and feedback here. Why is this important? Because YOU determine who represents you at campus. This is a student organization, for and by students. Your vote is instrumental in ensuring that your campus has the representation the students want. Please take a moment from your day to visit the link above and cast your ballot. Our next nominee Christopher Schneider, who is also from the Practical Nursing program and is running for VP Finance with the Student Association.

From Christopher's message to the students:

"I am running for VP Finance because I am interested in representing students and I love accounting, book keeping and numbers. You should vote for me because I am very dedicated in being the best representative of you that I can be. I am a hard working, mature, determined student who always shows up and does the best job he can".

Today, meet Makayla D'Ambrose, a student in the Practical Nursing program who is running for VP Activities. From Makayla's message to the students:

"A sense of community is beneficial to student life, it allows students to become connected to people outside of their respective cohort and form relationships that they would not have the opportunity to otherwise. Community allows students to have a sense of belonging, and by bringing activities into our campus that students are excited for we have the opportunity to connect more students to each other and create relationships that last a lifetime and fulfil students social needs".
